“Budget Worthy!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

We stayed here recently because I brought my husband to Bend for a long weekend for his birthday. We stayed one night here and another night someplace else. For budget friendly...It fit our needs perfectly!! The pool is in a funky spot up against the restaurant building but which a lot of reviewers complained about....Who cares!! Be happy there is a decent outdoor pool at a budget motel. It was nice and nice to swim in for a little while! Lot of handy things nearby and within walking distance. I have a hard time staying places sometimes because the beds are SO firm...I slept great this time which was nice. You usually get VERY firm beds in budget motels like this so I was happy they weren't so firm. The ONLY downside that we had a problem with is because this place is older and was remodeled sound travels well. I think it's important that the front desk take it upon themselves to talk to and maybe highlight on the paperwork during check-in about quite times. We had a family staying above us and over one room (we were in 134) that were SO loud. I ALMOST called the front office on them but decided to try and wait it out. These were young kids that were running around and jumping off beds, running up and down the stairs. I decided to wait out the kids because....I'm a parent....They get excitable and they do quiet down...I just wish the parents would think of others when they are letting them run all over the place late at night. This went on until 11pm or so. It was very frustrating because we were tired. If Management talked more with each guest as they check in....They may not have this issue as much.

Room Tip: We were in #134, it was updated a bit and nice and clean. LOT of sun in the AM....LOT OF IT!!! If...

Stay at this place on June 30, 2014 in rooms 133 and my sister in 134.
Sinks in BOTH rooms backing up the whole time we were there causing a health issue. I discovered water was coming in from the wall pipe whenever the sink in room 133 was used, as well as when our shower or toilet in room 134 was used.

The night clerk was aware there was a plumbing problem in part of the hotel - just not aware of which part. She offered to move us to an available room on the second floor, but it was 9:30 at night, and we were already unpacked, undressed and ready for bed. Also we needed to be next to my sister's room (133) because she CANNOT see at night, being partially blind.

The vents for the air conditioning unit in our room (134) were COVERED with dust - another health issue.

We had planned to sleep in the bed nearest the bathroom - also farthest from the door. The most upsetting problem was when my wife found this bed with wrinkled linens and hair and dirty particles all over the bottom sheet.

We were on vacation and I was SICK the rest of the time while we traveled. I when to Urgent Care and was told it was from touching something in our room in Bend. Will NEVER stay at this place again.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else!

I have no complaints about this place! The staff were courteous and the room was big and clean. We had a king on the 2nd floor with just a shower, but we're not bathtub types anyway. The towels rate a 2 on my scale of 1 being scratchy and 4 being soft. The pool was outside of our room, but we didn't use it. It was small and right outside the restaurant's patio...strange...

They have a continental breakfast, but as always, don't expect a 3 course meal because this was just the basics. silver dollar sized muffins and coffee and a few pieces of fruit with little else. We always come prepared with our own cereal just in case, and good thing. All in all, the price for 2 nights was 136--taxes included for summer rates.

Would I go back-yes...Even if the wifi seemed to be having fits of dementia all during our stay.

We stayed last night in two connected rooms with 6 kids and it was great. The pillows are way too firm and there were a couple other minor issues but overall it was an excellent motel experience!!! The rooms are modern and IMMACULATE. Friendly staff made sure we would be together. Totally recommend!

Our experience at the EconoLodge in Bend, OR was satisfactory on many levels. The location was fairly close to places we wanted to visit, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and the room met our needs. We were there for several nights and each day the housekeeping staff did a nice job of cleaning, making the beds, supplying new towels, etc. The beds were comfortable and the room included a refrigerator and a microwave, which was particularly nice because we often had leftovers after eating dinner. Our only complaint is that the carpet was dirty, so much so that if we walked on it without shoes our feet/socks were visibly soiled.

We did not try the breakfast so I can't comment on that part of the hotel but I would stay there again if I needed lodging in Bend.

This wasn't a bad place to stay for the price. We weren't in Bend to hang out in a hotel room, so we spent minimal time in the room. Rooms were clean and the bathroom was recently renovated. Our room did have the ambiance of a prison cell- some art on the walls would have greatly helped. The carpet near the sink area did smell like cat pee, but once you walked away you couldn't smell it so it didn't bother us that much. I did mention the smell to the front desk when we checked out. Breakfast was pretty sparse, we went out for breakfast every day but the last day. Location was convenient to downtown Bend and breweries and shopping.
