We stopped here on our way home from a road trip, and it was one of the lesser expensive hotels close to Sisters, Oregon. This is NOT of the quality of Red Lions that we are accustomed to on the west coast of Washington (Seattle, Bellevue). It is set up more like a motel with outside door access. We didn't have the breakfast in the morning.

The one thing that disappointed us was that they did not do AAA discounts. What hotel these days does not honor AAA? We did, however, receive a military discount. The rooms were clean and we did receive free WiFi. It was just OK, and an easy half hour drive to Sisters.

The hotel was nice. The rooms were spacious. They had a nice complementary hot breakfast. Just a so mote, the rooms were motel-style so the motel room doors were outside and not inside a building to get into the rooms. On the negative side, the shower water was hard to get warm and when it got warmer it was luke warm at best. Also, the water pressure was bad. Overall, my family and I would give our experience an rating of four stars out of five.

We stayed at the Red Lion for one night while passing through on our way to eastern Oregon. It's right on the main drag going into town so you can't miss it. The check-in staff were very friendly and efficient. There were even chocolate chip cookies and coffee in the lobby when we arrived! We were given a small map of the property with the exact location of our room. The hotel has an outdoor pool and jacuzzi - perfect for unwinding after a day of sightseeing. The room was decent sized, with comfortable beds and a vanity separate from the enclosed tub/shower and toilet. Coffee maker in the room and mini-fridge. Large desk with office chair. The ONLY complaint I had was that if you were sitting at the desk, there was no room in between the desk and the bed so that your travel companion had to climb over the bed to get into the room. Complimentary breakfast the next morning was very good: hot scrambled eggs and sausage, breakfast potatoes, pastries, cereal/milk, coffee and juice. And if you are 50+ you get a small discount, don't even have to have AARP! I will stay here again next time I'm in Bend.

Some of the reviews I read about this Red Lion were a bit negative. However, the price was right so I willed myself to take the risk and was, fortunately, pleasantly surprised. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. The rooms were very clean and up-to-date in appearance. However, my travel companion and I both agreed the pillows were a bit lumpy and the mattress was a tad hard for my liking (but I love an ultra soft mattress). There was a full complementary breakfast, including eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes, pancakes, assorted cereals and fresh fruits and assorted beverages. However, my firend and I both skipped the bacon as it tasted underdone. Thankfully we didn't get sick. Otherwise, enjoyable stay and I would repeat my stay if in Bend again.
