“Awesome hiking and scenery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2013

This place is awesome. Between the large tree, nice trails, and animals you'll never want to leave. Your never far from a brook or stream and camping here will give you remarkable memories and stories for years to come.

“Too Big to See Everything”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2013

Everywhere we went we saw signs that we were either entering or leaving the Deschutes Forest. There are plenty of things to see, from a multitude of exotic buttes to lava tubes. There are waterfall hikes and overlooks galore.

“What a spectacular National Forest!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

What a huge variety of activities you can enjoy in this forest! There are: mountain biking trails, horseback riding trails, snowmobiling trails, hiking trails, lakes, fishing, trout streams, sailing, and on and on! We love it.

“Spring in the forest”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

Sadly most areas of the forest were closed at early spring time we were there, roads not plowed, etc.--so could not see camp ground areas or attractions. But the forest is beautiful and serene as well as the many lakes and rivers you can see from the road. Can't wait to go back in the summer and do some exploring.

“Terrific X-C Skiing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2013

We skied for three days on three different areas and still could not take in all the terrain available for cross-country skiers and snow-shoers. The warming huts with their warm wood stoves are a great stop and destination for backcountry. The terrain is excellent for beginners and intermediate skiers.
