This grand old property is beautifully restored and boasts several very attractive common spaces. Only steps away from a lush, green bend of the Deschutes river and the shops and restaurants of the old downtown. Very attractive hospitality and truly stellar breakfast served family-style at a massive dining table. Rooms are spacious, tastefully furnished, and have high quality bathroom fixtures and treatments.
Our favorite stay during a recent tour of western Oregon.

With its wide front porch and all the comforts of a 5-star hotel, Lara House provides a place of rest and relaxation. It's a place better than home because everything you need is taken care of...from its bountiful breakfast to its plush bed linens. The inn keeper is delightful, she keeps a spotless house, and is keen to knowing the needs of each of her guests! I loved my visit!

The room was very nice and the friendly and helpful hostess was outstanding. Excellent breakfast and when we had to leave an hour early on our day of departure, she still gave us more than an adequate meal, just minus the special dish she had planned for than morning.

Wine and many other breverages were handy and all complementary, as well as a dvd/video and book library. There was the full length front porch and a back deck outside, amidst lovely landscaping on a residential corner, less than a block from Drake Park, along the Deschutes River, as well as a living room with fire place and a sun porch inside. All within easy walking distance from the old downtown shops, restaurants, galleries, etc

Very nice, overall, and most relaxing and convenient..

I took my sweetheart for his birthday. We stayed on the bottom floor. What a great spot. We had our own separate entrance. our own porch to sit on outside. They had great breakfasts--we stayed 3 nights and enjoyed every one of them.. It was great to be right across from the park and within walking distance to shopping and dining. They catered to our every need. I would definitely go back.
