“If you're a golfer, you gotta go!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2013

The facility is first-class all the way. Just as you would expect from a place that has four of the top-rated courses in the world. When many of their clients fly all the way from Europe just to play here you know it's good. We played Bandon Dunes and Bandon Trails this year. Of the two, we preferred the Trails course. Next year, if the weather cooperates, we intend to play Pacific Dunes and Old MacDonald.

“The best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2013

Well, there's nothing wrong here. The club house takes care of everything, just out yourself in their hands and they'll make it all happen. They shuttle you to the course you're playing at- the buses run all the time. Pacific course is unreal, just try and play on a clear day so you get to enjoy the view. You do need a caddie. They read the course to perfection.

“Maybe the best golf resort in the county”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013

They really get it at Bandon Dunes -- no pool, no tennis, no big spa -- just 4 of the best golf courses that you will ever play. My two favorites are Bandon Dunes and Pacific Dunes, although each course has its strengths. Take a caddy -- in addition to hauling your bag, their help with distances and reading putts will save you strokes. I have been to Bandon five times now, and I am definitely going back.

“Like a trip to Scotland”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2013

I would agree with most reviewers that this is one of the best golf resorts in terms of friendly staff, the hotel staff, the pro shops, the caddies and the the restaurants. For dining at night, the food is quite good, but not on par with the Monterey or Pebble Beach. We really liked Bandon Dunes and Pacific Dunes courses, great views ... but my California bias would not put them in the same category as Pebble Beach. I was not as fond of Old MacDonald, as it required many unique and difficult shots off Scotland like hard fairways, but to be fair, it did remind me of Scotland's Cruden Bay. On a windy day, it is better suited for match play. As forewarned by others, there are caddies or handcarts but the terrain of the three courses I played (we did not play Pacific Trails) are not well suited for handcarts and if you have never played these courses, you definitely need a caddy to point you in the right direction (in the case of Old MacDonald, one hole required a shot directly over a very high embankment and, unlike say the 16th hole at St. Andrews, one cannot see the fairway from the tee). Also, do not miss the Par 3 course, Bandon Preserve, challenging, lots of fun and great views.

“The Total Golf Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2013

Bandon Dunes is without question the most complete golf experience you will find ANYWHERE. "Golf the way it was meant to be played" Is not only there tag line it is actually the experience. My wife and I are seasoned golf enthusiasts but had never played with a Caddie. The Caddie experience at Bandon was an amazing experience. Our Caddie was Darren Bender (I highly recommend him. The caddies are all independent contractors and work hard, carrying 2 bags!) Darren saved me at least 10-15 strokes on greens alone. The golf course was as close to minimalistic perfection as it comes. You never feel like the course intrudes on the natural beauty of the property. We were lucky and played without a whisper of wind and it only rained on the 18th. If I never play another round of golf again I will go happy!
