“Halibut”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012 via mobile

I was skeptical, but I ordered it anyway. Pleasant suprise. The tv in the bar gives a sports bar impression, but it's shielded from the dining area, and the atmosphere is inviting. I'll go back.

We had a party of 7. Some of us got there early and went to the bar. Great atmosphere, attentive service. We were seated right on time , And our waitstaff was great. Everyone enjoyed their food immensely! Definitely would go back!

“Classic Steakhouse Excellence!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

Tonight my wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary. We had eaten at this restaurant once before with a large group and loved it. That group has a lot of experience eating, literally, in the best restaurants around the world. Many times I have eaten with them in fancy restaurants and heard complaints. No one complained at McGill's, it was terrific. So, it was easy to decide where to go for our dinner. We arrived to the dark wood, cut glass, and Irish ambiance of McGill's. Our waiter, Cameron, was excellent. He knew his job and fulfilled it perfectly. He gave us our space, timed deliveries of courses at just the right time, and appeared when glasses began to empty or dishes needed to be removed. My wife chose the bruschetta for her starter and I the french onion soup. She loved the bruschetta and I was very happy with the soup. It was served traditionally in a little crock covered in melted cheese and french fried onion strings. The soup was beefy, full of carmelized onions and bits of steak. Fantastic! We both ordered the same entree (all those years together) perfectly cooked hand carved ribeye steaks, garlic mashed potatoes, and steamed vegetables. It couldn't have been any better. We were both about to pop when Cameron offered us a complimentary creme brulee for our anniversary.
We were very full, but we gratefully accepted. It came served with whipped cream and strawberries. When we cracked the burnt sugar crust and tasted the velvety custard we both looked at each other and said mmmmmm. If you have a special occasion or just want to splurge, you won't be disappointed at McGill's! I know I am going back to sample the seafood and especially the lobster pasta!

“Ample, Tasty Portions”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2012

For Tulsans, McGill's is somewhat upscale. A full bar and wine selection complement a menu of varied and carefully chosen selections. Beware: The portions served range from ample to enormous, leaving little room for the delicious dessert offerings. Strong on service and a great reputation for good food.
