“Lovely Museum!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2013

Of course I have to start off by saying this is a military friendly place. Please have your ID to get inside for free! Walking in I wasn't real sure about how I would like this place. I've been to several art museums that are just ok. This place is Beautiful!!!! The first floor was alright, nothing too interesting in my eyes. Walking outside was a whole different story. The detail in the garden, the water that runs quite a ways down the garden, to the water fountain on the other side of the building. I cannot believe this home was built in the early 1900s!!! I loved the marble fireplace and the pictures of what the home looked like when it was being occupied.

It took about 2 hours (could be longer) for us to walk around in the museum and outside. I would suggest bringing bug spray for walking around outside. There are very clean facilities outside to use also!

“Philbrook Museum of Art”

3 floor with different artistic pitures. You have to buy ticket to get in the building.
The garden outside is beautiful and neatly. Nice walk path.
I don't think you have to pay to get into the garden at all.

“Lovely museum with extraordinary gardens”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2013

It's hard to overstate what a beautiful property this is. In addition to the permanent collection of European, American, and Native American works (which are quite lovely in their own regard), the contemporary and visiting exhibits round this out as a outstanding destination in Tulsa. The Philbrook mansion itself would be worth seeing, even if it did not house the excellent collection that it does, and the extensive grounds and gardens make this a place to spend a leisurely afternoon. A short book detailing the mansion's history with many photos from the years the Phillips family lived there is available in the gift shop. There are unexpected suprises: One room on the lower level commemorates Philmont, the huge ranch in New Mexico donated by Waite Phillips to the Boy Scouts. Evening movies are shown outdoors on the lawn (contact the museum directly for dates and times).

“It deserves to be No.1 on this list!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013

Philbrook is a Tulsa treasure. The former home of Waite Phillips and his family (Phillips Petroleum) is magnificent. To imagine living here takes the wildest imagination. The art collection is perfect. Someone said there if not enough art...but the artwork is specifically chosen for Philbrook. Moran, Rodin, and so many other names leap to life here, where they seem to fit.

We were there on Saturday and while the restaurant was busy, it was not packed.
Service was first class. And the food was wonderful. My partner said the Island Burger was the best hamburger he had ever tasted, bar none. My Salad Duo was truly delightful. Two salads, fruits, a muffin...all with wonderful flavors. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Can't wait to go back...but next time, it will be Sunday brunch!

Be sure to check out the visiting exhibition. Sculpture that will leave you scratching your head, wondering how they do that. So interesting! It should be mentioned that Bank of America, and perhaps other banks, have a museum program that makes it possible to visit
museums across America for free. Philbrook is on that list of museums! Check it out!

“Well worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013

We thoroughly enjoyed our although we too were a bit disappointed in the Gardens being close. We did understand the reasoning as we drove my many trees either felled or cut to pieces along the way. The staff was most courteous but they did keep it a bit chilly for us Floridans
