“Well worth the short detour out of downtown Tulsa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2013

Located just northwest of downtown Tulsa on Gilcrease Hill, the museum hosts an extensive collection of Native American art with strength in the Plains Indians, and western art including XIXth century landscape painting and works of the Taos Society. I did not eat in the restaurant, but it looks fine with picture windows overlooking hills to the west.

“Great place to visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2013

a great place to learn more about the native Americans. Great view of the hills from one corner of the museum. Love the basement collections and how they present the exhibits. Very informative indeed.

“Intimate museum in gorgeous Osage Hill setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2013

Gilgrease in a national quality museum of western art. It houses an impressive permanent collection of western landscapes and sculpture, including Thomas Moran and Charles Russell. There are also many Native American artifacts not only from plains indians, but also mesoamerica. They usually have interesting temporary exhibits as well. The garden and grounds, especially down behind the museum near the pond are beautiful in spring. There is also the Gilgrease house on the property.

“THE place for Native American art”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

If you are at all interested in Native American or Western arts and artifacts, this is the place. Plus the building itself is beautiful as are the grounds. We go back often because the exhibits change frequently.
