“Unique local museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

I am not particularly a fan of western art, but the Gilcrease is worth a visit for the Bierstadt and Moran landscapes if nothing else. There is a gallery downstairs at the back with drawers of native American artifacts, everything from arrowheads to beaded moccasins, that deserved more time than we had to spend in it. A sibling reports that lunch in the cafeteria was quite good.

“Banks of Azaleas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

For starters, the grounds were beautiful with great banks of azaleas in full bloom surrounding the parking and entry areas. The western art and history was very interesting and lovely to experience. We spent about 2.5 hours touring

“Incredible!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013

Well worth the visit, this was an astonishing collection of Western Art and Native American Art. The galleries are well lit and give you plenty of room to roam. Super gift shop also. Was pent 2 hours and could have spent more. If the weather cooperates, the gardens are really worth
seeing.

“Wonderful family outing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2013 via mobile

I took my girls to Tulsa for a couple days over spring break. Out time spent at the Gilcrease Museum was one of the highlights of the trip. The permanent exhibits are outstanding and well worth the trip. The visit wa enhanced in that we went on a day when there was no addmission fee, but even more by the special exhibits. All three of the special exhibits we saw were temporary and near the end of their stay, but all three were fantastic. Based on our experience, I will be watching to see what other special exhibitions ar coming in the future, and will be planning a return trip.

“A Bountiful Feast of Western Art”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2013

Wow! So many paintings and bronzes by Remington and Russell! The sculpture outside the front of the museum is featured on many Oklahoma license plates. There is so much else to see and it is well worth the visit.
