“Average, clean, friendly night manager”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012

Super 8 motels can run the gambit from trash to treasure. This one was right in the middle. The parking lot was filled with pickup trucks and utility vehicles. The night manager was friendly even though we arrived at 11:30 pm.
The room was quiet, clean and the air conditioner worked to quickly cool the warm room.
We had two queen beds and both were comfortable.
We usually plan our trips and stay in hotel with more amenities. This trip was an unplanned, 8-hour drive. We were happy we selected this hotel out of the other budget, roadside establishments.
Breakfast was the typical carb laden pastries like that you would get from a convenience store. The coffee was hot, fresh and ordinary.

The Super 8 in Perry, OK is a revamped, but dated hotel.

When we entered the elevator, we noticed several dead crickets on the elevator floor. When we got to our room, there was a lizard above the door. The dead crickets explained his presence in our room.

The doors squeaked (and we knew we would wake each other up at night going to the bathroom), so we asked the desk agent for a can of spray oil to fix the squeaks.

The restaurant he recommended (more of a diner) was closed when we got there (they told us at 7:40 p.m. on a Friday night that they had already thrown out all the food!). So, we went to another place they recommended, a truckstop with "Sooner" in the name on I-35. The food there was pretty low quality stuff.

When we got back to our room, we tried using the internet and found it to be pitifully slow. When a hotel says it has high speed wireless internet, I expect that it will be high speed with decent response times. That hotel doesn't. It needs an internet speed upgrade.

The room did have a flat screen TV with expanded basic cable from Suddenlink. And it had a small microwave and a small refrigerator.

Oh, yes, the trains going by all night long and blowing their whistles at the intersection near the hotel prevented us from getting a decent night's sleep.

Other than that, it was one heck of a great stay . . . .

Next time, I'll just bypass that place and stay somewhere else.

Checked into room, hairs all in bed, all sorts of dead critters everywhere and found bed bugs! Went to the front desk and confronted them on the bed bugs and they admitted to having them and then gave us another room! New room had a dirty sink, dirty sheets and also all sorts of dead bugs!!! The staff here is very rude!! I would stay far away from here! The pictures on here are bogus! The pool is out of service and looks disgusting nothing in this place is even close to clean as they make it seem!!!

I was pleasantly surprised by how clean and spacious our room was. Our king bed was very comfortable. We had a large flat screen tv with a jillion channels. Coffee maker with Farmers brother coffee - a local favorite and one of mine also. Ver very clean bathroom with great water pressure in the shower. I would have given 5 stars, but the breakfast was pitiful. But for $55 it was probably all you should get. 2 cold cereals, packaged oatmeal, bread and bagels to toast and pre- packed sugary rolls. No fresh fruit or canned fruit. Hot plentiful coffee too. All in all a great stay and I would definitely stay here over the other chains in Perry that wanted to charge me double what I paid here!

Checked in late at this hotel. Found Dirty sheets in the sofa sleeper. Only one person working the front desk. So we had to change the bedding our selfs. Found the whole hotel looking tired and dirty. Found breakfast very limited.

We spent one night. Room is reasonable for an interstate hotel, however...pool is closed, and there are 2 vehicles near the unlocked back door sitting with flat tires. (They've been there for a long time!) The back door is taped over with duck tape, when you swipe your card. When I asked what time they lock the door, I was told, they don't. In this day and age, that makes me feel very unsafe.
