4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2010

My husband and I first stayed at the Waterford Marriott in OKC in May 2010. We had a great experience. The hotel was well kept and very comfortable, with a boutique-like charm. The rooms were not overly elegant but were still very nice. We got a GREAT rate because my husband is active duty military, and it was in a central location of where we needed to be. So, we returned in July for a second stay. We did not have as good a stay the second time. On our second trip, we were in a room right next to the housekeeping quarters by the elevator, and it was noisy early in the morning. Also, the hotel began some renovations in the hot tub and fitness area that made it less than relaxing. Our room was also not as nice as the first time we stayed. However, we would still go back after renovations are completed. We'd just be sure to request a room further down the hall.

The Waterford appears to be a historical hotel that the Marriott took over. The front desk personnel were friendly and professional. The room was a bit dated but comfortable. We arrived after a massive hailstorm, so some of the windows were boarded up but understandable. Good stay! Recommended

This is a nice property and located in a good part of town. The hotel is starting to show wear in the rooms and common areas. They have a nice bar and plenty of parking. The rooms are big and they have large bathrooms. If you don't want to stay downtown this is your best option.

The Waterford Marriott is a quiet and classic property within a business area. The rooms are comfortable and large with updated amenities. You can tell this hotel takes great pride in their reputation and works hard to maintain it. The staff is friendly and efficient and I felt very welcome. There are numerous restaurants and shops close by and it is only a short drive to bricktown. This property is one of my top two picks in OKC and I would recommend it for business and pleasure travel.

The staff at the Waterford provide excellent customer service!
We stayed there twice this months. Very Clean and welcoming hotel. We liked that the Waterford is a smaller than the average Marriott, the Boutique Hotel character makes it a very welcoming. The breakfast is awesome and the value great. The Waterford not only offers a pool and a fitness room but also has a Racquetball court.
We will stay at the Waterford again.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2010

Stayed for 21 weeks as I was on a project in OKC...some weekends, but mostly during the week. Had some suites, some king rooms. So here are the details:

People: Front desk staff is excellent. Very responsive to help and quite courteous. Maid service was so-so; found several "items" on the floor that weren't mine on many occasions (bobbie pins, old combs, etc.)...quite gross.

Lobby: Beautiful. Lots of marble and victorian appointments.

Rooms: Couches in suites need to be seriously upgraded (seriously, how can you sit on those things without the cushion sliding underneath the backrest or off the couch entirely?!?!). Shower head came up to my chest-and very problematic in many rooms(leaks, water pressure). The desks and desk chairs were movable around the room and were very nice. The beds......ugh the beds. Okay first the pillows are NOT supportive....if you need a firmer pillow than a feather pillow will allow, ask for a foam one (they will get you one pretty promptly). Second, those feather pillow-top mattress covers need to go. Not only do they come off at night (if you're a tosser in your sleep as I am), but they POKE you! The stems of the feathers poke through the sheets and make it quite uncomfortable to sleep! I slept in a heavy pair of sweatpants and long sleeved t-shirt to not experience this each night. Figure this one out, folks. Worth a full rating point if you do.

Restaurants/Room Service: "Ugh" again. If you want the most limited of menus that is over priced by almost 50% for what you get, then you're in the right place. Bar is nice, and the bartenders are most courteous, but $15 for a double vodka/cranberry??? C'mon boys....bit much. Breakfast for gold and platinum members in the concierge lounge is nice-nicer than most other Marriott's. Don't do the restaurant, though. Same food as the concierge, only for $16.

Other items: Laundry room is always clean. Very nice to use ($1 to wash, $1 to dry for 45 min.). EXCELLENT GYM! One of the best. Each machine has a personal TV and headphone jack. Raquetball court was a great stress reliever after the long days. Sauna and hot tub on site as well. Floor conference rooms, though small, were adequate for our needs and made available to our group as a courtesy for no charge.

Didn't use the pool, though was a mystery when it was still filled and cycling through the stone lion fountains in January during an ice storm!

Close to Penn Square mall where various restaurants and handy retail are within a mile.

Bottom Line: Average room accommodations for a consistant AAA Diamond winner (according to the plaques proudly displayed behind the counter). Staff is great, however. So at less than $100/nt., I'd say it delivers on it's value.

Thank you for taking time to share your comments on your stay. I will meet with the Housekeeping Manager on your observations of the guestroom. We are also in the process of making changes on menus in restaurant and room service with the arrival of our new Executive Chef. We hope to see you again at the Waterford Marriott on your next visit to Oklahoma City.

When we arrived at the Waterford Marriott, we were told upon arrival that they'd run out of nonsmoking King regular rooms...so they put us in a two-room suite! It was lovely, with two TVs and a separate desk area. All this for a $104 per night wedding block rate.

The staff at the Waterford Marriott were so accommodating. The hotel sold us a $2 Oral B toothbrush when we realized we'd left it at home, gave us directions to delicious burgers nearby (Irma's Burgers), and easily and quickly checked us out at 5:30am on our day of departure.

I used the workout room once and it was well stocked with water and clean towels. No wait for machines.
