We stayed at the OKC Marriott while in town for the Big 12 basketball tournament in March 2007. The hotel seemed to be at full capacity, which might account for some of the problems.

Pros:
The beds were very comfortable.
The hotel toiletries were better than average.
The breakfast buffet was outstanding.
The pool and hot tub area was nice.

Cons:
The rooms seemed slightly dated; maybe time for a renovation.
The rooms were too small to bring in a roll-away bed (according to fire marshall regulations). This obviously won't be a problem for most groups.
Only one elevator was working during most of our stay; this was significant problem since the hotel was so full.

Overall, it seems like this would be a good hotel for business travelers, and would likely rate much better when the hotel is at average capacity.

My family arrived at the hotel and check in was certainly easy enough. The rooms and lobby were very nicely decorated. When we arrived in our room we noticed the back of the bathroom door was peeling. The veneer was peeling off and was painted over to try to cover it up. When my husband turned on the shower, black mildew came bubbling up from the sink. My son (who loves to drink water) brought me a glass with dried cigarette ashes in it. I guess the maid didn't see this. It was also a non-smoking room and since we didn't notice any cigarette smoke, we are guessing the glass had been overlooked for quite some time. The room was beautifully decorated and the lobby is also very impressive. I would stay there again if they gave me a different room.

I was in town for work and stayed here for a week. Hotel staff was courteous at check-in as well as during my stay. The room I had was relatively clean. The sheets were really nice for a hotel, 280 thread count. This is a small thing, but for a frequent traveler like myself, the lotions, shampoo, conditioner, and mouthwash bottles were top quality. So much so that I took a bunch home, which is very rare. The gym on the 2nd floor is also nice for a hotel. Lots of equipment and in a spacious area.

The hotel's location is relatively close to a lot of things: plenty of restaurants nearby and very close to a lot of chain stores - off of May Avenue are a ton of big stores like Best Buy and Borders is right next door. It's about 20 minutes from downtown/Bricktown. And if you're a golfer, Lake Hefner is only a few miles northwest and they have a range and 36 holes.

My daughter and I planned a girls weekend staying in the city, and spending a day at the Omniplex when we found a really great deal at the Marriott. For $99 a night, you got a room and choice of two tickets to YOUR CHOICE of 7 listed attractions, including the Omniplex. With Omniplex admission at $12.50 adults and $10.50 for kids I thought this was a really great deal. We booked it for two nights, thinking we would then get to go to the Omniplex plus another attraction. When we checked in, I asked about the tickets, and nobody knew where they were. They did say that they get an alloted amount and the choice of tickets is from what's left and to check back later. When we called back, they said they only had three attractions left, none of which a nine year old would enjoy. They offered to take $10 off the price. Not even the price of one childs ticket to the Omniplex. We thought about checking out early, but decided to stick it out. Otherwise we'd have to spend a day trying to find another hotel. When I told my mother what was happening, she called and pretended to be a potential customer and asked about the tickets, and they told her, she could have her choice of all 7 attractions. Nothing about "Choice of what was available". The next morning, we awoke, and as it was a much brighter day out, when we opened the curtains, we saw what we had just slept in. There was what appeared to be urine all over the bottom of one entire wall. When we looked closer, we saw splattered blood on the wall next to the entertainment center, and to make matters worse, when we looked at the curtains, there was what looked like vomit staining the bottom of the curtains! The real kicker was when my daughter looked at the desk chair, and said, "Ewww there's stuff on the chair like they find on CSI when they use the blue light". Translation: There was what looked like ------ on the chair! The carpet was strange feeling too, so we wore our house shoes and the shade on the floor lamp had very odd stains on it as well . We decided to check out for sure!

The only reason I didn't give our stay a Terrible rating, was because the manager did appologize a lot, and take $50 off our bill. I would have much rather had the weekend we had planned however.

I'm sure this must have been a fluke, but I would really suggest looking closely at the room before taking it. Just an FYI, we stayed in room 1022.

Spent the weekend there with children and grandchildren. Management was extremely helpful with blocking rooms so we were all together. All of the rooms were in excellent condition. A great workout room and indoor/outdoor pool that was nicely heated. Breakfast buffet covered everyones favorites.

The zoo, Omniplex and museums are near by and easy to get to. Plenty of restaurants and the Penn Mall close by.

Would highly recommend.
