“Oklahoma can be proud”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2012

Artwork and displays are excellent. The addition of the dome made a huge statement for the building.

“Wonderful Tourist Spot!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2012

This capital is preserved very nicely! You have very clean and spacious exhibits, 8 floors of interesting artifacts and replicas, and beautiful architecture. Original elevators take you 8 floors up, although they can be nosiy with the loud voices, but hey, an elevator, is an elevator! Located on the eastern side of Bricktown, this is so easy to find. Almost an exact look-alike of the Washington DC Capital, and an indian on top

“Great Tour with Guide”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2011

My family and I took the free 45 minute tour of the Oklahoma State Capitol. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and showed us all the interesting sites within the building. We definitely walked away with a lot more knowledge of Oklahoma City's history than we ever learned in school. I would definitely recommend it, even if you have small children.

“If You Are Already In The Area, Stop By...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2011

While the dome is impressive from the inside of the building, not all of the interior architecture is impressive. The building is open until 5 PM each day, including weekends. There is quite a bit of art work on display throughout the building that was impressive.

“Okay to visit if you are interested in seeing a state Capitol”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2011

I always visit the capitol building anytime I am traveling to or through a state capitol, so of course I had to visit the one in Oklahoma City. We went on a Sunday and had the place entirely to ourselves, which was great considering I was there to look at the paintings and sculptures and not to see actual legislation.

Inside the dome of the building is fantastic to stare up at, and there are a lot of large murals painted on the upper walls. There is also an art exhibit set up in one part of the building. There are also a lot of interesting portraits and paitings lining the walls.

The only downside to our visit was the security guards. They were kind of rude when we came in and didn't seem to want us to be there.
