“our usual place in OKC”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2010

Our daughter is about to graduate from OCU, so we have visited Oklahoma City many times over the last four years. Although we used to stay in expensive downtown hotels, with economic changes we sadly can no longer afford $200/night. For the past two years, we have stayed at this hotel every time we have visited OKC (probably 6 times total), and have never had a problem. OK, so it's not as nice as the $200/night places, but it's not supposed to be. If you want a comfortable safe place for less than $100, in a convenient location, this hotel deserves serious consideration. Regarding complaints about noise, I can't believe anyone stays at ANY hotel without earplugs (I used to need them in the $200/night places, too).

We stayed here because they actually have 2 room suites with a door you can close in between---no other "suites" hotel seems to have this. My husband could sleep in the bedroom and my 19 year old daughter and I could stay up and watch TV or talk. We had 2 queen beds, so when my daughter wanted to sleep in in the morning, my husband and I could be in the other room --with couch, table and chairs, microwave, refrigerator, and coffee pot. It was the perfect arrangement. Breakfast was included which was quite satisfactory. Newly remodeled, with business center and workout room--we utilized both. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was quite close to a very large mall, next door to Borders, and restaurants close by. The only negative was being close to the elevator---which we could hear very clearly going up and down. There was also street/highway noise, even though we were on the 9th floor! Not the fanciest hotel, but above average with good beds and pillows.

There were all kinds of bad reviews about this place, and I think it was simply sabotage. I paid for our stay online through Hotwire, not knowing where we would be staying. After reading the horrid reviews I was afraid to stay there, but had already paid in full. There were NO roaches, it was CLEAN, the staff was helpful and friendly. There were free cookies and fruit. A good breakfast bar. The carpet looked a little older, but I don't sleep on the carpet. Don't listen to the bad reviews.....they were lies.

The Country Inn and Suites on NW Highway in Oklahoma City is a decent, inexpensive comfortable hotel in an upscale section of Oklahoma City. Employees were friendly. Parking is convenient. There are plenty of restaurants and other options close by. Borders is next door. I paid a $62 corporate contract rate but there were rates not much higher generally available. This place is good for a night or two on a road trip.

  • Liked — Comfortable, clean, safe hotel at a good price
  • Disliked — Breakfast service was late getting started.

My husband and I wanted to spend a relaxing romantic evening together for our 10th anniversary. Unfortunately I picked the wrong hotel. I booked us for the whirlpool suite with the romance package. The whirlpool was suppose to be for two however there was no way two people could have fit unless they were midgets. Not to mention the noise from other guest could be heard all night long. Plus the outside light that shown in our room made it so bright that even with the drapes pulled it was as if we had every light on in the room. Our breakfast the next morning was cold and very limited selection. We only seen two staff members the entire time we were there and that was when we checked in and out. I would not recommend anybody staying at this hotel!

  • Liked — The location to the places we went
  • Disliked — The room and noise!

Please be aware that the jacuzzi rooms do not feature full size whirlpools like you may have at home. Also, I would encourage anyone who rents a room in any hotel to ask the manager on duty to physically see the room first. If you are not satisfied, we will be more than happy to help you find accommodations that would suit you better. After all, we are in the hospitality industry :)

The hotel and staff were dirty, rude and very non helpful. Management called us liars and did not believe any of our concerns. Rooms were very noisy and staff walked into occupied rooms. I heard that they are also theive and should be checked by the HOtel and Motel association.

No would have a better room staying at the MOtel 6 or HOliday inn down the street. At least they would listen to your concerns and even move you to another location if needed.

We were in town again for a Softball Tournament, and even another lady in the room next to us was and she even had trash in her room from the people before her. No soaps or shampoo or towels without asking over and over again. We all went out and bought our own as the hotel must not supply these.

I would like everyone to know that this hotel is under new ownership and I have been the General Manager since 9/08. My staff and I are working very hard to make the changes that are needed. We appreciate all of the feedback our guests' provide and would like to welcome everyone to give us another chance, or if you are a first time visitor, to see the improvements we have implemented since some of these reviews were posted in previous years.

Let me start by saying that when we got to the hotel it looked really nice from the out side view, but then we went up to our room and it wasn't as great as we expected. First of all they put us in a room that looked okay when we first walked in to it, but when my daughter closed the door behind us the security latch fell off the door. It was broke in half. So they moved us to what they called a mini suite (nothing sweet) about it. AT FIRST GLANCE...... the room looked fine, but a closer look we found that it was dirty. There was ashes along the wall. Specks of dirt and debis here and there on the floor. M&M's on the floor along side the couch. So we dicided to take an even CLOSER look. We pulled the night stands, couch and dresser out and found all kinds of trash behind there. Food, wrappers, dust and dirt. It was just terrible. AND if you are one of the lucky ones to get a room thats facing the highway, well then thats just another treat for ya. Hope this helps. UNHAPPY TRAVELER
