My wife and I loved this. So much to see. We also chanced on the one day a year it was free to get in!
We started in the Art section. OK I expected Remington and Russell, but there was so much more, including modern interpretations. Wonderful.
Then there was a whole range of sections exploring aspects of the West, cowboys, various Native American tribes, rodeo, the Cavalry, Buffalo Soldiers etc. We loved the cowboys in the movies and TV section. Then there was a mock up of a western town to explore and lastly an exhibition of Will James drawings and books.
Plus there is a great shop and we had a very nice lunch in the restaurant.
Another feature is the volunteer docents greeting and explaining.
Lastly we loved the gardens. OK there was some noise from the nearby freeway, but it was lovely.
Wished I lived closer so I could be a docent there!
