We arrived at 10:00 pm after 12 hours on the road with our 3 boys-ages 8, 12 & 15. We stay in Hampton Inn throughout Texas. This location was REALLY nice. We are very well traveled and are accustomed to 4 & 5 * properties and were VERY pleased. The decor was clean and well designed. Their pool was open until 11:00pm and my younger boys wore themselves out. There were plenty of toys, sprays, towels and chairs. Be warned, the chlorine smell is very strong...but we are accustomed to it in Colorado. :)
We paid $12 to park in their attached garage and the arrival covered driveway was beautiful and welcoming. Very similar to many 5*'s we have stayed in. :). We stayed in a BALL PARK STUDIO suite, which slept 6. The separate kitchenette was very well appointed and we appreciated the microwave popcorn for after the pool. No one was bumping in to each other and the linens were cozy. We couldn't find anything to complain about in regards to the room.
The AM breakfast buffet ends at 10:00am. We all enjoyed the standard American fare. There was plenty of food, eggs (real ones- lol) fruit, breads, muffins, pancakes, make your own waffles, etc. We left full. The staff was very nice, everyone we encountered greeted us.
We were HIGHLY pleased and relieved. After our young boys passed out, my husband & I walked down the street to Henry Hudson's Public House, where they served up 1 of like 40 brews on tap. Which my husband appreciated after 12 hours in the car. The kitchen was closed but they were so kind and gave us chips & salsa. Sooooo needed.
We did the OKC Bombing Memorial. We spent $50 to get in...spent a little over an hour doing the tour. Very worth it! Thanks OKC!
