“Tornado evacuee”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

I stayed at this property because my house was undergoing major repairs due to the May 20 tornado that hit OKC. I left after 3 nights to spend 3 more nights at The Colcord. The Colcord gave me a special rate for Tornado Evacuees AND they had valet parking for just a little more $ than the self parking that Hampton has. Hampton made little or no effort to accommodate the needs of a local resident that just needed a comfortable safe place to sleep.

We stay here every chance we get when in Bricktown!! Comfy beds, our truck actually fits in parking garage (big bonus!!!), close to action, and our daughter loves the swimming pool and slides!! Can be pretty busy, but staff is friendly and accommodating. Book early if possible during busy season!! Only complaint I have, which is a general problem with indoor pools, the ventilation is extremely stuffy in pool area. Gets pretty hot unless you're in water too! I don't consider it their fault though, it's just kinda a normal thing with indoor pools, I've found at least! But great place to stay!! Fun for the kids!!!

Alisha G,

Thanks for your review on Trip Advisor! We are glad that you enjoyed your stay at the hotel and enjoyed all that Bricktown has to offer. Our indoor pool is pretty cool for kids of all ages! We look into the ventilation in the pool area to make sure that all of our equipment is functioning properly. Again thanks for the review and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Thanks Again,

I used this hotel for a seminar. My room was facing the street and I was woken up at 2am both nights to drunken people leaving the bars. Loud cars and motorcycles could also be heard. The pool area is great for families, lots of toys and water games in the pool. My colleagues room faced the ballpark and he said it was great, so if here on business or with your children I would highly recommend staying on the ballpark side of the hotel. The staff was helpful, but I did a lot on my own. The food was average and facilities for meetings the same.

Room Tip: Stay on the ballpark side.

BigJ54jnha,

We appreciate you taking the time to review the hotel on Trip Advisor. Your feedback is very important to us and will help us to improve. It can at times get noisy at night being in the heart of the entertainment district and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Again we appreciate you taking the time to review the hotel and we look forward to seeing you soon in a ballpark room!

Thanks Again,

Clean and close to Bricktown. Has some qualities that would make ti nice for a family stay, but is lacking in the quality area. Of course, there are other alternatives, just not as close. The stay was pleasant, and convenient. The growing trend to charge for parking is both absurd and irritating. If you stay here and pay for parking through the hotel it is $10. If you pay directly to the parking vendor, it is only $5.

Pumpkin_Hollow,

We consistently strive to ensure every guest has a great stay. We are glad that overall you enjoyed your stay and hope that you will give us another chance to WOW you. We do have a 10 dollar charge for parking which allows you to come and go as much as you would like or you can pay the garage 5 dollars with no in/out access. Again, thanks for taking the time to post about your experience. We look forward to seeing you soon.

We had the AC at 65 degrees and though the room did cool off, the humidity was almost unbearable. Not sure if it was the room or the overall weather outside that made it that way, but room 414 was not a very nice sleep. Everything else was just fine, especially the complimentary breakfast. Even emailed the company about the AC condition and still waiting to hear back from them.

Room Tip: May want to visit a room to check the AC's humidity level before checking in unless you want a t...

As a first-time visitor to Oklahoma City, including the Bricktown area, I was pleased with my stay at this Hampton Inn. I've stayed in a lot of Hampton Inns around the country, and I think this one is one of the cleanest and freshest looking properties I've seen in the last year. Especially if you're a baseball fan, you can hardly do better than staying here, which is right next to the AAA Oklahoma City RedHawks stadium. But anyone staying here will find a really great variety of restaurants and bars within easy walking distance of the hotel. Even if your business is in downtown OKC, don't assume that you have to stay there. Bricktown is an easy taxi ride from downtown, and the Hampton Inn is a great base of operations to explore the neighborhood.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms higher up on the stadium side if you love baseball

Oklahoma City, Bricktown, was a stop over both coming and going on our family vacation this yr. It was a brief stay, but a favorite of my children. The hotel overlooks the ballpark - what a neat idea! We had tickets for the game on the return trip, but if you don't have tickets, the view from the room is great and you can still enjoy the game. We stayed on the 7th floor and the 8th floor for really good views. It's within walking distance of several restaraunts. The room was spotless and the bed was the best I've slept in, in a long time - including my own! I highly recommend it. The only bummer was having to pay an additional $10.00 to park. It would be nice if that was included in the price of the room.

dmcook1985,

Thanks for taking the time to post about your experience on Trip Advisor. We truly appreciate your kind comments. The backside of the hotel does have some great views from rooms directly into the ballpark, a great place to catch the game! Thanks again for taking the time to post your experience on Trip Advisor and we look forward to seeing you soon!
