We booked a king-bed nonsmoking room at this hotel via the hotel website. Checkin was smooth, and we were given an upstairs room.
The air conditioner was running (set at 60 degrees!) when we got in the room, and was clanking worse than an unbalanced washer. Fortunately, it just seemed to be the compressor. We turned on the fan only since it was cool outside, and that was fine. We were exhausted and didn't really want to go back to the desk and switch rooms.
The room was clean enough, I guess, but it was pretty run down. There was a tear in the carpet near the bathroom, and the bathroom light fixture was missing its cover. Not the end of the world in either case, but also not really preferred.
I tend to like a firm bed, so I was worried when I sat down and sank into the bed. However, it turned out to be extremely comfortable. So, at least I found something nice to say about the place.
The breakfast bar was so-so. The coffee was good, so that was the main thing. And the wireless internet worked.
I stayed at the Hampton Inn about a year ago, and it was far preferable to this hotel (I got a $20 discount here that I couldn't get there -- but next time I'll just pay the extra $20). I would advise staying there, or maybe trying another hotel in the price range of this one. The Comfort Inn Muskogee is certainly not worth even the AAA rate given the run-down condition of the place.
