This was the 4th hotel in 4 nights we had stayed at on our trip along Rt 66. The check in process was very good and the room was nicely done and clean as Hampton Inns always are. We decided to watch a little tv to unwind after a long day. We couldn't find a channel listing handout anywhere so I just started surfing. When I changed the channel, it would say it was one network on the screen display but would actually be another. Then I'd go up one channel and it would be the one that was labelled as the channel before. My friend called downstairs to ask for a channel guide. She was told to go to channel 2 for that. Well, no, channel 2 says it is PBS but it is showing a black screen. We arrow up one channel and that is actually PBS etc. My friend called down again to say that there was no channel guide on channel 2 and that the channels are messed up. It's at that point that the woman tells us that they gave been having chronic problems with the tv provider. Some rooms are fine, others like ours are messed up, and others don't have much tv at all. Now, why didn't she tell us that when we called down the first time? She said the only thing they could do was to move us to another room and we could see how the tv was there. We had no desire to pack up and move a fifth time in 4 nights, so we decided to just make do. The woman did run up to give us a list of where the channels were supposed to be. She was very apologetic and nice. But it was a disappointing experience for a Hampton Inn. Otherwise, the stay was fine, the staff was nice, and the breakfast was good. I just don't feel that I can give this experience a grade higher than average.
