“Just another expensive hamburger place!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2014

Not as good as people say. Every thing is a-la-cart. Paying $10 for just a hamburger is not worth it. I have paid less and got more (with sides) that have tasted better. Service was not good either. Been all around the country and this goes near the bottom of my list for hamburger joints.

“Not worth the hype and slanderous literature about the President abounds.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2013 via mobile

This place, it'sobvious as noted by the political propaganda, tea party flag, and slanderous literature on the table about President Obama (full of typos), that this place caters to a specific crowd.

Everyone enjoyed their burger enough but for a place that caters to many service men and women they should consider being more generic in their political viewpoint.

“If you're in the area; have a good burger and ice cold beer!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2013

I always try try to stop by Meers restaurant when visiting the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. There is nothing like an ice cold beer and good old fashioned burger after hiking all day.

Great people; very friendly; great service.

“Good destination place when in Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge vicinity”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2013

This is one of those destination places. When you're up in the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge area, you'll want to stop here. To be fair, you might not have many choices, but this would be a good choice, nonetheless. Expect a wait of 45-60 mins (you'll see the line outside) unless you arrive at 11 AM. First, portions are ample, so don't over-order. The "light lunch" menu should not be overlooked as it will fill you up. Four ozs (which there seemed more than this) of brisket + potato salad, beans and slaw. Their BBQ sauce is excellent. The burgers are good; as others have noted, they raise their own cattle. Consider sharing one of the big ones, as they are large. Fries and onion rings were nothing special. They weren't very fast to fill the beverages we ordered (ice tea & lemondade). Save room for dessert -- the cherry cobbler and homemade ice cream were probably the best part of our lunch. Order one of each and you will have enough for 4 diners for dessert. I'd visit here again.

“Hole in a wall, but great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2013

If you want a greasy burger, don't bother. This is a lean, flavorful treat! I loved the ice cream even better - a thick, whipped creamy confection - mmmm!
Let's face it, if the building were anywhere else, it would have fallen down long ago. For me, it's refreshing going somewhere that doesn't have exact duplicates in every city, or is a faked antiquity.
It was odd driving out to the middle of nowhere and standing in line an hour for a burger. For me, the overpriced menu was worth it, and I'll go back if I ever get within a hundred miles again.
For you critics that find fault in everything with your ax to grind everywhere you go, save us all the trouble and keep driving a to your favorite chain eatery back home. The only griping I want to hear is from the hostess! I'd complain too if I had to deal with an endless procession of people all day every day. This is the best of two star dining!
