The atmosphere, kitschy in a Rat Park-like manner, was actually charming. I could visualize my parents having eaten at a place like this. Unfortunately, that was the high point of the experience. From the taste-free pastas and meats to the hygenically-challenged server who couldn't be bothered to find our table despite waiting on those around us (locals, it seems) repeatedly, even to the point of ignoring us waving and calling to her on more than one occasion.
We are typically above-average tippers, but chose to pay cash for the meal (to avoid a name being on a credit card receipt) and not to tip at all due to the horrendous service. There was no sign of anything approximating a supervisor throughout the entire time we were there. GiaComo's would have been overpriced for 'good' food; for what we suffered through, it was reprehensible.
