“Surprisingly comfortable stay in a new hotel.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013

We liked that fact that this property is pet-friendly, and were delighted with the character of the place. Super-comfortable beds, hearty breakfast, and clean surroundings. We will definitely use the Elk City La Quinta again.

Decided to stay in Elk City, OK on our way to Albuquerque. Very nice looking hotel with not much around really. The room was pretty good and seemed clean. They have an outdoor pool which we didn't use but looked ok. The hotel is also pet friendly as I saw some dogs with their owners but was never an issue. The best part was the free cookies in the lobby.....they were fantastic! They must bake them there cause they were very fresh! The breakfast is pretty much your typical hotel breakfast. I would stay here again if I was in the area.

first of all this hotel is new and it is awesome. Don't get me wrong. there are not too many places to stay in Elk City because of all the oil company's. However, I had to stay here a couple of things for work. While here I realize the internet was not great. It was super slow actually. I needed to do an online class. While I was there it was not an option because there was too much lag. The breakfast was average as well.

Room Tip: all the room are pretty quiet. I had one connected to the elevator and even that did not bother me...

We got a 2-room suite here for one night, and the room was awesome--huge, clean, quiet, perfect. We did see a couple spiders and bugs, and as we were leaving at check out, we ran into the exterminators there to spray, so clearly the hotel knows this is an issue. The pool and hot tub were also very nice; my only complaint here is that it would be nice if the pool opened at least by 9 am, instead of 10 am. The other thing is, for some reason, you have to get the pool towels from the front desk, and when we needed them that evening, a bunch of people were checking in, so we had to wait in line forever to get a few towels. Same thing happened the next morning, except I got fed up and went straight to the front and asked for the towels instead of wasting the little time we had before we needed to go waiting in line! The lady at the desk seemed irritated that I did that, but at that point, I really didn't care. Breakfast was sufficient--the best part was the dry cereal, in my opinion, but DH liked the biscuits and gravy. Did not use the fitness room, but it looked sufficient as well. Overall, this was a great place to stay mainly because of that all-too-elusive 2-room suite! We will stay there again if we're ever passing through.

We had trouble with our moving truck and we had to stop spur of the moment and find a room. They were extremely accommodating and we were super excited that they are pet friendly. The room is nice and clean! Beautiful lobby and friendly staff. We would recommend this hotel! Very impressed!

We were traveling with our three dogs (two Collie pups, and a Terrier) from TX back to CO, and stumbled across this hidden gem by chance. Normally La Quinta's are dumps that you put up with because most will allow pets, but this one is awesome! Very clean, and upscale with an 'Ikea' type of modern decor. Zero hassle about the dogs, and no pet price gouging either. Hello Marriott and Sheraton, are you listening? We've stayed at properties that cost much more that were no where near as nice and clean as this La Quinta. Staff, room and amenities were all first class. Other La Quinta owners would do well to visit this location and see how it's supposed to be done. Lots of beautiful lawn for the dogs. Easy to find. Well lit and secure. Excellent Route 66 location. I would recommend this if your in the area with, or without pets.
