This was one of our favorite stops on our summer road trip. It was a welcome break for us and our 3 boys on our day's drive between Amarillo and Oklahoma City. It was so nice to watch the brief movie on the history of Route 66 at the Automobile Museum first and then leisurely tour all the buildings with lots of historical artifacts. The grounds are kept beautifully and your admission covers the cost of all of the small museums. They have a one-room school house, a little chapel, a pond with goldfish, a train caboose at the depot. There is also a small soda shop where you can get bottled soda, candy sticks and ice cream. The volunteer working there dressed our boys up like soda jerks and took our picture behind the counter. There are lots of great photo opportunities at this little stop. It was a great way to spend our afternoon.
