3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013

We have stayed here a few times because it was convenient for our travel itinerary and sits right on the highway. We normally arrive late and leave early. We have had a few issues in the past including not getting checked in properly so that other guests tried to enter our room with a working key at 2AM! We have had poorly working AC and less than clean rooms. However, those issues have always been quickly addressed by the staff and with a smile. We have found a MUCH nicer La Quinta for the money in Wichita and have therefore rearranged our travel schedule to stop there in the future instead. This Del City hotel is older, not in a particularly great neighborhood, and most of the other guests appeared to be blue collar workman. Nothing wrong with that but their late-night tailgating BBQ parties and hanging outside all their rooms hanging over the railing smoking was less than "family friendly". Convenience was all that kept us coming back. If you are yourself, on a tight budget, and on a late check-in & early check-out, it's a decent value.

We had booked 10 rooms for our church mission team. The first problem arose when we attempted to check in and they could not locate our reservations even though we had a confirmation number available. This was eventually resolved. We were then assigned to rooms which we were not told were smoking rooms. There was a terrible odor. Luckily, I had Febreeze and Lysol which helped somewhat to lessen the odor, otherwise, we would not have been able to stay in the rooms. There was not a wastebasket in our room. Again, I had a trash bag available. There was a partial roll of toilet paper in the bathroom. The breakfast was terrible and the juice dispenser was broken. I attempted to locate a fellow traveler who was in another room unsuccessfully. I/we will not be returning to this location.

Room Tip: Ensure that you are not given a smoking room.

I stayed in this hotel because it was close to I-40 and I was by myself, so didn't want to get too much off the interstate. I feel I got pretty much what I paid for, however, it doesn't matter what you pay for a room it should be clean. Breakfast was sparse to say the least. I took a bagel before looking to see if there was cream cheese...there wasn't. Strange to have bagels and not cream cheese. I was disappointed in the breakfast to say the least. I won't stay here again, I'll drive a little further down the road and see if I can't get a better cleaner room next time.

Sink in dressing area drained very slowly. Only had a partial role of toilet paper in room so had to ask for more. Attendant in office was alone so had to go down three floors to get one role.
Sheets, towels and bedspread had yellow stains on them. Bathroom was so small you could barely turned around in it and toilet was too short. Two nights costs us $200 and the room didn't even have a microwave or refrigerator in it. Floors were very dirty and had not been vacuumed in a while. Mattresses were old and sank in after laying on it. Stayed in another La Quinta in Shawnee the next night and it was a world of difference except for the noise from other people slamming doors and screaming down the hall.

Room Tip: No fitness center available. At night there is only one person in office and she can't leave...

This is a low budget hotel. It wasn't a bad stay, but I have had many better experiences elsewhere. The complimentary breakfast was marginal with just basic options, plus the wait staff didn't keep the items stocked. The trash was overflowing and nobody seemed to care. The room was ok, but didn't seem real clean.
