“Ribs are to die for!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2014

We heard of this place through some of the locals there in Davis and they weren't lying... this was some of the best bar-b-que I have ever had. We went on a Saturday when they do their ribs and the place was packed with people. It was well worth the line, and the staff was very friendly. I will say however that they should update their address with google, as we showed up to their old location and it felt like a ghost town. Lol. They did have a sign on the door to help guide us to the right address but this is probably costing them visitors who didn't have the patience to call for directions and get pull in to read the small sign on the door. Overall, I loved the experience. Don't order too much like we did! The one meat platter is enough! So yummy!! I will definitely be back to visit this hidden gem if we are ever fortunate enough to be in the area again :)

“Best brisket in the world!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2014

The brisket here is to die for, it is extremely tender and full of flavor. The portions here are huge, so be ready to eat. Great value for the amount of food you get. This place gets pretty crowded on the weekends, well worth the wait.

“Good barbecue, great portions!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2013

Recently my family drove to Davis to try out Smokin' Joes. We went on a Thursday night, since we heard it was pretty crowded on the weekend. When we first got there, not many tables were taken, but it quickly filled up. I ordered the 1 meat small plate with ribs, fried okra, coleslaw, and Texas toast. I was amazed at the size of the small plate. It was brought out on a tray with paper over it, as a plate probably wouldn't have held all the food. My husband had polish sausage, ribs, and smoked bologna. My kids had pork tenderloin. The sauce was good too. It was enough food for our family to feed us twice! All in all it was good barbecue. I hope to try some of the pulled pork and potato salad in the future!

“Absolutely delicious BBQ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2013

The brisket was extremely tender and flavorful and the potato salad was yummy. The restaurant sits back off the road and is hard to find is you are not familiar with the location, especially at night. We saw a sign for the RV park but no restaurant so we drove past. Fortunately we saw a neon OPEN sign back off the road after we turned around.
