“A wonderful memory”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013

For sure a wonderful experience. The restaurant in tucked away in a little pueblo 'the real Spain'. However easily accessible from the main road.
We parked just as you enter the village on the left and then had a romantic stroll through the village. The food was wonderful and varied, the ambiance was perfect, the service great and hosts could not do enough for you. We very much look forward to our next visit. Thank you.

“Exquisite”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

A slice of Spanish heaven in the mountains above Malaga, this eatery is well worth the short drive from Malaga to experience the warm welcome awaiting from the owners and their Spanish guitar playing staff. Set in a picture perfect typical white washed Andalusian square, the menu offers a diverse selection of eating options from delicious and slightly different tapas options to amazing salads and a wide variety of amazingly well cooked meals. You can sit and soak up the sun outside or enjoy the shady areas of this beautifully decorated restaurant complete with indoor tree. Offering musical entertainment and dancing on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings or you can while away the afternoon sipping wine and then take a leisurely stroll through the picturesque village. Aware we're sounding like an advert but this is the real deal, a new favourite in Spain for us and a refreshing change after 20 years plus of visiting.

“For a special eating experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

This is the place to be. Unique in its ambience, not just the setting with the beautiful tree but especially with the owners who make it such a unique experience to come here. Food is good and different, the salad is to die for, the best I have had. It always makes us happy to come here. Last week I tried their new dish the lukewarm salad with avocados and almonds and ham in a hollandaise sause! absolutely wonderful, unique food well made and beautifully presented.

“Great evening of guitar music, lovely food and friendly owners at El Arbol Insólito in Benagalbon, near Malaga, Spain”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2013

Had a lovely evening at El Arbol Insólito restaurant in the pretty hilltop village of Benagalbon, near Malaga, Spain.

Ivan and Nenno are the perfect hosts for this friendly, Bohemian-atmosphere restaurant, set in a peaceful and attractive little square near the top of the village. Its not quite like any other\restaurant we've ever visited on the Costa del Sol !

Guitar music to suit all tastes is played live (Flamenco, classic pop & modern) by various artists and everyone is encouraged to join in by Ivan who is an entertainer in his own right. Be prepared to be drawn into the evenings entertainment!

We finally got away in the small hours of the morning and all our children (ranging from 23 to 8 years!) old got involved in the singing and music. Great family fun and an evening to enjoy.
