HAD TO ENTER DATE OF STAY TO WRITE REVIEW @ THIS SITE, BUT COULD NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!!!!!!! When I arrived at the hotel, what I saw was not at all what was pictured online. This was a VERY run down, dilapidated hotel. The parking lot alone appeared to have not gotten attention in 30 years. I went into the office & was told there was no record of my reservation; however a room was still available. I gave the clerk my paperwork so she could make copies, but she had trouble figuring out how a copier worked. Upon inspection of the hotel room, the smell alone when I entered was an overwhelming musty & stale odor. The décor was brothel-like. This place should be rented by the hour, if you catch my drift. I did not at all feel safe & expected crackheads & p i m ps to show up momentarily. The small refrigerator motor was so loud it sounded like it would conk out any minute. The microwave looked like the prototype for the first microwave ever made. The bathroom tub had rust stains inside & out & no fresh toilet paper. The topper was the old-fashioned bottle opener right next to the toilet tank on the wall (you get the visual - open a beer while you sit). I immediately went back to the office & advised I would not be staying as the room was horrible.
I was in town for my son’s wedding. I had no choice but to stay at my son’s apartment sleeping on the couch for 2 days, which also was a fiasco as the entire wedding party was up half the night working on last minute preparations.
By Saturday, 5/21/11, I had to find a room as his apartment was no longer an option. Because of a sporting event in town, hotels were sold out. I finally found & paid for a room at a cost of $140 for just 1 night!
Upon getting home, I noticed there were 4 reviews for this particular America’s Best Hotel. All 4 were negative & mentioned fleas, ants & other critters. After seeing the rest of the room, I had no doubt there would also be bugs. I took many pictures inside & out of the conditions in this hotel.
Quick tip - go elsewhere
