“Excellent stay in Toledo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

Stunning mansion in downtown Toledo, with easy access to the art museum and interstates. During our stay, we felt like welcomed guests. The inn-keeper, John, was a remarkable host and excellent chef. The rooms were warm and sunny, and we were delighted to learn that the home is on the National Registry of Historic Homes. Your $ will be well spent on the privacy, comfort, atmosphere, food, and upkeep of this historic site.

Room Tip: If you like to wake to sun streaming in your window, select the Secor room. It has a private bath...

We had our sons wedding here. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The mansion was decorated for the holidays and it was absolutely breathtaking. It was a very intimate wedding and dinner. I would highly recommend the mansion for an event.

The exquisitely restored home functions as a stellar bed and breakfast, as well as a beautiful venue for special occasions. The e-mailed connections with one of the hosts offered friendly, appropriate suggestions for touring and walking and dining. The formally-served breakfast in the heavily paneled dining room was as delicious to the palate as it was beautiful to the eyes. The one block walk to the Toledo Museum of Art is convenient. A long walk around the extensive West End revealed beautifully restored Victorians, some actual painted ladies. By Christmas time, the inn boasts 20-some decorated trees. What a perfect place to have a special dinner!

Room Tip: We had the Libby, the actual room looking exactly like site 's photo,.

I recently stayed at this Inn which is on the National Registry of Historic Homes. It is so wonderful that a few of these great homes have been preserved so that we can have a glimpse into how some people lived in the past. The suite on the the 3rd floor is spacious and most comfortable, The host (John) was gracious. He directed us to the Art museum, restaurants open on Monday, and the route to the freeway. He gave a complete history of the house and the neighborhood.. Don't miss the breakfast . It is a real breakfast fit for royalty served in the dining room. A delightful place not to be missed. Memorable.

We recently spent two nights at the Mansion View in the Secor room. The house is stunning, filled with wonderful architectural details, and beautiful craftsmanship. It is decorated with lovely touches and not over done. We loved the front porch, and spent a peaceful August afternoon chillaxin' with some good wine and reading material. Tim was our innkeeper for our stay, and made two outstanding delicious breakfasts - absolutely incredible. We didn't need lunch either day! He gave us great tips on local things to do and see and had a great knowledge of Toledo and its history. Although the neighbourhood was older, we walked without any issues at all from our B&B to the ball park - a distance of approx. 1.5 miles. Would highly recommend the Mansion View to anyone visiting Toledo.

We went here because we had a groupon for 2 nights. We loved the first day but due to a death in the family had to leave early. First let me say on the way to the mansion my husband was very concerned and wanted to just drive back home due the neighborhood. We got there and it did look better but still a little shady. Once we opened the door it was like walking in a different world. So breath taking and beautiful. The man who runs it is very kind and informative. We were sad to go.

I wouldn't advise walking around too much unless you go to the "art area" where the museums and stores are but it seems like a great place to site outside with a glass of wine and read a book.

If you are looking for a good bottle of wine or specialty beer go to "The beer and wine cave" which is connected to a meat market but the owner is very informative and such a great guy. We bought several bottles to take home since in Michigan they do not sell the brand we like.

Room Tip: If you can get the room on the 2nd floor with the soaking tub. It was great!

We had never gone to a Bed and Breakfast before so when we recieved this weekend as a christmas present from my daughter's family, I was not sure what to expect. The tour and overview of the homes history was amazing. We were welcomed with open arms and our room was clean. The Bed in the Ludwig room was so big, my husband and I felt like we were alone in the bed.. there was so much room. We can and went as we wanted. I was concerned about other people in the house with noise, but I never heard them. It was quite. I loved our stay and the breakfast food was D-lish... Thank you John, Jeff and Tim for a wonderful stay away from home...
