“Great Breakfast, Vegetarian Friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2012

Both the German pancake and the potato pancakes were excellent. The service was good and the ambiance very nice since reopening after remodeling.

“Fabulous Place for Breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

We had passed this place several times and always wanted to give it a try. However, it always seemed busy. We caught a break, though, as I had an appointment down the road mid-morning on a Thursday. Hence, it presented a good opportunity to stop. We were very happy we did. The location makes this place easy to find at a rather busy intersection (Central Ave. and Secor Rd.). The outside appearance is nothing special as it looks like a small and relatively plain building. However, the seating capacity belies the appearance as there is quite a bit more room inside than one would expect. We were seated very promptly by a friendly hostess. She put us in a cozy booth at the back of the dining area. It took very little time for the waiter to get to us to start the process. The menu offered a very nice mix of pancakes, crepes, omelettes and more. There were some unusual choices. Their signature item was a delicious-looking dutch-style apple pancake (maybe next time!) but I opted for the seasonal pumpkin pancakes and my husband got the Santa Fe omelette. We were both extremely happy with our respective choices. Both portions were very generous (in spite of the fact that I only got a 1/2 order). The pancakes were very tasty as they were served lightly dusted with powdered sugar accompanied by real whipped cream (no syrup necessary!). The Santa fe omelette was a little unusual as it was very fluffy rather than folded (almost like a quiche without crust) and was loaded with vegetables, including green and red peppers, onions and jalapenos. My husband got salsa with it and found it to have a very nice taste. We were surprised at how busy it was for a Thursday at 10 AM and can only imagine what Saturdays and Sundays look like. In spite of being busy, however, the atmosphere was still nice allowing for us to carry on a conversation. My only small complaint was that seating was just close enough that I could hear other people's conversations a little too easily; but that is a common problem in restaurants. We were at least spaced well enough so we did not feel on top of one another. The service overall was very good and the prices were a little more expensive than some breakfast places. But this was well worth the little bit of extra we paid. We are looking forward to our next opportunity to visit.

“Excellent Spot for Breakfast or Brunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2012

If you are REALLY hungry for breakfast, then come to this little spot, outside of downtown Toledo. Wonderful family run restaurant, with VERY fast service (you do NOT wait, NOR are you allowed to sit long AFTER your meal), and an amazing breakfast menu.
