“Just to save $.....”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2012

My family of 4 stayed in 2 rooms at this hotel in July 2012, for a Cedar Point visit. This hotel is old, one of our rooms was not cleaned at all during our 3 days, there are no room amenitied like fridge or microwave (there is a small coffee-maker) and we had no light above the sink-mirror area. I do think they try - front desk staff is friendly and coffee and juice in front office all day - but this is an older property and you should only stay there if it's just a stopover for your days in Cedar Point and you don't care about any luxury.

Room Tip: My older kids got a corner room that was quite large, would be better for families with younger kids...

First off the room was very small. The T.V. did not work properly, the drywall was damaged, and the ceiling tiles were molded and dirty. The pool water looked green and disgusting. The doors to the rooms have an 1" gap at the bottom where anything could crawl in. And in our case it DID!! While we were laying in the bed we found a giant/huge water bug crawling in our bed. It was literally the size of my palm!! We exited the room immediately and asked for a full refund. The clerk then stated they get those all the time after it rains. She said not to worry and tried to give us another room. We weren't having it!! In short people stay somewhere else!! It was by far the most horrific hotel we have ever stayed in.

Room Tip: Just don't stay here.

We prebooked this hotel to take our kids to Cedar Point off of Travelocity and our credit card website. I wish we would have seen the trip advisor website before booking. Travleocity had decent reviews. We checked in and checked out within 20 minutes losing our first nights rate. When we checked in around 11pm on a Friday night, we were third in line to get a room. When we went to check out 20 minutes later we were first in line out of the 3 people that checked in together to checkout. We all left to find new rooms somewhere else. We stayed at the Best Western on Milan would highly recommend. Dont stay here! This place should be condemned!

This is definitely not a 5 star hotel but I didn't expect that for $45 a night including taxes. I think for a Saturday night when Cedar point was open it is one of the best values in Sandusky. They have danishes, juice and coffee for breakfast and if you want more there are lots of restaurants around. I found the bed to be very comfortable and discovered that it was a pillow top mattress. The pool was out of order during my stay and they provided free passes to the rain x waterpark at their sister hotel, the Quality Inn down the street which are normally $15 each. The hotel is older but that didn't bother me and I would definitely stay here again.

After reading all the other reviews I was quite apprehensive about staying at this hotel.
My fears were totally unfounded.
The room was clean, albeit quite small.
It served the purpose for somewhere to sleep quite well.
The price was amazing, location was good and I have no complaints other than the pool was quite cold.

You will be disgusted by this hotel, do NOT stay here. I am not picky and we are budget conscious, so we are used to staying in hotels that are not fancy, but this one should actually be torn down due to the safety and health hazzards it poses. See my pictures, they speak for themselves. Where to start, let's see.....bathroom-extremely dirty and bugs, mold in window, shower head falling out of wall, rusty and broken fixtures. Door-most of security was missing, didn't close tightly (see daylight along it). Breakfast-what a joke! Was a coffee pot/juice machine/and packaged pastries sitting on a 3 foot counter in the office. No table or chairs to sit at. Pool-cloudy and smelled like a stagnant pond. Would have welcomed the smell of chlorine to know it was disinfected. One ice machine, broken. Went to front desk to ask for ice, was taken to the laundry room by the maid while she scooped some out of a little cooler. OMG, the site of the laundry room scared me to death! Bare dirt floor with potholes. Racks made out of old plywood. Bedding and towels stacked on these dirty racks. Worst of all, washed blankets and bedspreads stacked on the dirty floor right on top of the dirt and spiders. When I was checking out a man in front of me wanted to know what to do about his car being broken into the night before. They stole his stereo, GPS, and personal items. The area was very scary and run down.
