We reserved through a group special and got a good rate or we wouldn't have paid the regular rates. Our family has 7 members. My husband and myself, two teen girls a 12 yo girl and two boys ages 5 and 7.
Our expectations were exceeded. I had read that the service was poor and the water was cool. So we were a little apprehensive. This place is great! It is so big! Our room was gorgeous! We had a combination family suite. This worked out great for cooking and eating in our room.It was very spacious. We loved the fire place and the three tvs. The waterpark was really fun! In some of the pools the water was a little cool, but not too bad. Beware of the family raft ride at night (large yellow tube) it is pitch dark through most of the ride. The indoor/outdoor whirlpool was neat because it was snowing outside. The arcade was fun and had a great variety of games. For some reason we received 160 tokens when we checked in. Not sure why? But I'm not complaining! Even our three reluctant teens liked it so much that they didn't want to go home. We would like to try going again in the summer. The outdoor play area looked like fun.

Our checkin was smooth, the room was upgraded to a double room suite and it had a fireplace (very nice!) it was my husband and our two friends....no kids and we STILL had a blast! I have absolutely NO complaints about this resort at all what so ever! If you read a bad review maybe its because the person is super picky or it was all around not a good vacation. The food was very good, the prices at the restaurants were very good, even the arcade was cool! No complaints here....pack your bags and go people!

This was our first trip to Kalahari with four boys ages 10-16. We realized it was a busy holiday weekend and were very patient with the long lines and late check ins.The pervailing attitude of the staff was poor and the hostess at Kahunaville was verbally abusive to my children. They arrived for lunch and the hostess asked if they were going to "give them any problems or she would make them eat outside or on the floor." This is probably someone who should be in housekeeping not with the general public. The bartender actually commented that they were the best behaved kids he had seen in a while. The parking attendants were rude as well. Customer service was not their forte'. Zip coaster was also broke, but the boys still had fun. Hope they treat you better than they did us!

My husband and my two children (ages 8 and 10) really liked this place.
We went on Jan 7th-9th. (Sun, Mon, Tues) Sunday it was a bit crowded--but not too bad. Mon and Tues was great.....no lines, plenty of chairs and tables at the water area. We were bumped that the Zip coaster and the Big Bucket were not working the whole time we were there....but still plenty to do.
When we checked in...they said they had no reservations for us and we forgot to bring our conf. number. We had booked an African Queen and was told that none were avalible so we were going to get their Family combo room. We had to wait as that room was not avalible. After a couple hours..we were told that our room still was not ready. My husband complained to the manager....who really made it up to us. We were upgraded to a combo room....a Lodge and Hut combo. The room was beautiful and HUGE! Full size kitchen, fireplace, whirlpool tub, 3 TV's,2 patios, 2 bathrooms and three beds. Also, a large dinning room in the center with a little living room area. My kids LOVED having their "own" room with a conecting door to our room. We later were told that our original resevation had been found...and still were allowed to keep the upgrade!! We did everything!! The spa is excellent! The kids loved having their picture taken with the baby tiger, the pottery place was fun, and the candy shop is sinful!!!!!!!!! We will be going back for sure!!!
Very clean, but most (not all) of the employees seemed sad or unhappy......not sure why??
The water depth was perfect for our 8 and 10 year old..their feet touched the bottom. We will be back!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, where do i start!! Check-in was a treat!! The woman checking me in just got over mono, and had a sinus infection. The check-in attendant proceeded to talk about her experience of being sick while whiping her nose and coughing all over the room keys. I walked away, and washed my hands and keys quickly.

The waterpark was a joke. I personally couldn't believe all the people that they squeezed in there. We could not find any lounge chairs, or chairs to sit on. My daughter had found one chair, and five of us used it. How fun!! Waiting in the lines for the rides took 1 hour for each ride. The lazy river had couples in tubes with beer. Truly not a family resort by any means!

The room was nice but strange. The room had connecting doors, so it was two rooms instead of one. The suite had two doors for entering. Very odd. The girls beds was so hard, that actually one of them decided to sleep on the floor because it was more comfortable.

The best part of the whole trip was the security problem. Around 11:00 p.m. I heart the girls door open. (I knew it was not them, because they did not take a key with them.) I went to go check and there was a man standing in my room, I screamed and the man ran out. I ran to lock they door, and the man came back again to open my door with a key. I yelled again, and the man ran off. I called security, and gave a discription of the man. Around 1:00 a.m., they still have not found this man, and the girls and I were scared to stay there. The manager Steve did move us to another room, but was talking about how there were employees from the Wisconsin Dells Kalahari at this resort, and how they carry there own keys and sometimes get rooms mixed up. That frightened me. I called the next morning to get an update of the situation and the manager told me that they found the man and that he was drunk. She just played it off like it was not a big deal. Basically, I truly feel violated and disgusted by the whole night. There is not excuse what so ever for anyone to have to go thru what I did. We did not sleep and the hotel sucks!!!!!!!!!!! My advise to you, go some where else!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
