Oh!! So much to say about how Amazing it was to stay in our cottage!! We stayed in Cottage 15. Right across from the pool and right beside the pier. It was wonderful! You have a full view of Lake Erie right from inside your cottage with the big windows in the entire back of the cottage over looking the lake. You have your own deck right on the lake also. It is so awesome to sit on in the morning with your coffee, or to sit at night and watch the gorgeous sunset!! So relaxing!! We saw tugboats, sailboats, ferries, yachts, a tugboat pushing a barge, a Coast Guard boat and several huge ships, so fun to see!! It was great to be able to come back to the air conditioned room to take a break from the park. We absolutely loved it!! There is a pier to just walk on or fish off of. You can walk to Cedar Point and Soak City, or you can drive your car over and park it there. Either way is great! So let me tell you the the technical parts of it!! The cottage has a full size bed and two bunk beds in the bedroom and a futon in the Living room. We had 4 adults and 2 children. Ages 54, 28, (2 kids 3 and 6 years old) and a 16 and 19 year old. Mom and 3 year old slept in the bed, me in bottom bunk, 6 year old top bunk and teens on futon. There is a night stand with a drawer in it, and there are drawers under the bunk bed. There are 2 drawers in the tv stand in the living room and there are several large shelves in the kitchen for your food. There is also a closet with a few hangers in it. It was plenty of room for us! The cabin is pretty quiet and blocks out a lot of the outside noise. There is a 4 cup coffee maker and they supply you with coffee. You just need to ask your maids when they come by for more every day. We also replenished our trash bags and towels this way. I would recommend bringing some baskets to hold your supplies as there aren't any drawers in the kitchen. You must bring your own utensils. They supplied a dish cloth and dish towel. They have a small refridgerator that has a very small spot on the top that is a freezer ( not separate and no door on the freezer) Things that we brought that were helpful and things that I wish we would have brought. We brought and electric skillet, a cooler for drinks, (ice was $2.14 for a small bag (7lbs) at the camp store, which was great) beach towels (the pool towels are very small, like a small bath towel) baskets to hold my utensils and things like foil, paper towels, baby wipes, and dish soap. I also brought binoculars, they were fun to look out at the boats, ships, birds, etc. That is not an exhaustive list, but some of the items. Some things I will bring next time: 2 over the door towel racks with hooks, more containers to put things in, a step stool. I am 5'5 and I could not reach the top shelves in the kitchen and you can hardly get to the top bunk to look up there because there are only steps on the frame of the bed. I saw someone post that a screen door would be nice, and that would be a nice addition to the cottage, but the bugs were not bad during the day and we sometimes would just leave the door open. Everyone that worked at Lighthouse point was so friendly, cheerful and helpful. We absolutely loved it and would highly recommend it to anyone!! Oh yeah, a few more things, The Wi fi did not work well at all. We brought a dvd player that we hooked into the tv's at night to watch movies that we brought, the shuttle picks you up to take you to the park and the pickup is in front of the pool, so very close to us. Though we did not use it this time, we have in the past. There is a laundry room in the pool house, and there is a clothes line in the shower!! Do not feed the birds from your deck, just trust me on this! :) Hope this helps!
