“Beautiful view!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2013

We stayed the first weekend of October for Halloweekends. Our package for 4 adults included two nights in the Cabin, a ticket each for half day Fri and all day Sat and early entry and we got reimbursed for our parking. We stayed at Lighthouse point in a cabin and the cost with 4 fast pass plus tickets(90 a piece) and everything i mentioned above was less than $500. The cabins do have an "up north" feel. I cant say that it wasnt up to par as far as cleaning goes because what do you expect when you are told there is no room service except fresh towels. There are no utensils or plates so bring your own :) The view from the back deck right on the Lake was AWESOME!! We could see and hear the the screams from the roller coasters too, big excitement builder!! We saved money by bringing food to eat to the cabin. There is also a grill right outside each cabin. WE WILL BE BACK!

My family checked into one of these cabins Friday night and we checked out at 2:00 a.m. in the morning because mice were sleeping with us and eating our food. The place was very dirty and we almost walked out as soon as we walked in but decided to stay until the mice ran us out. We were booked for Saturday night too. We found a room at the Best Western in Sandusky and checked in there at 3:00 a.m. Don't go to these cabins, they need to be torn down. My son and his wife stayed at the Breakers and were very pleased.

Went for halloweekends and decided on Lighthouse point. I can't say that we stayed here because it was terrible and we decided to cancel our reservation and find another place to stay.

One thing that is nice is the view and atmosphere, but beyond that this place needs a lot of work.

The room just seemed dirty. There were smears and splatters visable on the walls in the light, the fouton looked 30 years old, and the sink had brown stains in it. We decided that these issues weren't too big of an issue since we would be at the park most of the time.

THEN!!! we got back from the park and saw a mouse run across the floor. Our 2 small children were in the bedroom with the grandparents asleep and we didn't want to wake them but when we heard mice in our snack food, that was it. We had to go.

Unfortunately, there was no one at the front dest at lighthouse point. We had to call sandcastle suites and they informed us that there was no manager in until 8 am and that we could wait until then to talk to them. Then were offered to move to their hotel for the night so they could have maintenece get rid of the mice then we had to go back to that same room.

Long story short, after saying the entire resort was booked, they would move us to a different cabin on Saturday (they were probably going to put a different family in our mice infested room instead).

It would have been wonderful with no mice, good cleaning and some updating. We will never go back, but would try the camper village if we had a camper.

I stayed in a Lighthouse Point cabin with 8 adults over Halloweekends. First, and most important, we got a GREAT deal. A cabin for eight people, early admission, getting parking reimbursed, and park tickets for Friday night and all day Saturday came to under $800. We also did all our eating in the cabin (took some planning on our part). Despite a lot of things that we did not like about Lighthouse Point, the location (5 min walk to entrance of Cedar Point), the price, and the ability to have our own food made this a good choice for us.

Some information on the cabins and our thoughts:

- The line to check in Friday afternoon around 3 was really awful. We stood in line for over an hour. During that time, there was never anyone from the park or cabins organizing people or making any effort to move faster.
- The cabins are around a disgusting man-made little pond that attracts a lot of bugs. Bring bug spray. I believe the cottages (for 6 people) are on the water and should have fewer bugs.
- The cabins are clean.
- There is a small charcoal grill outside the cabin as well as a picnic bench. We used both of these and had those bug away sticks so it worked for us.
- The cabin is really tight on space inside ... really tight. You better know the 8 people well.
- The bathroom is really really tiny. There are public bathrooms very close to the cabins for the camping village and every morning 2-3 of us went there to shower which made the getting ready process a lot easier.
- The kitchen does not have a stove, only a microwave, small coffeemaker, and a mini fridge. We brought a plug-in grill pan that worked really well.
- The kitchen does not have any utensils, bring your own.
- The loft is a very good size, we were able to fit 2 queen sized air mattresses without any trouble.
- The bedroom is very small, just big enough for a queen sized bed.
- The cabins are air-conditioned.
- The living room has two futons that fold out and when you first enter it doesn't look like there is enough room for them to fold out, but surprisingly, they can both be folded out.
- The futons only come with two flat sheets and a thin scratchy blanket. Next time I will take my own bedding. The futons are REALLY uncomfortable.
- There is no bedding for the loft, the cabins only have the bed, scant bedding for the futons, and also only provide six towels. You can get more, but the staff was snotty about it.
- They reimbursed us parking for three cars, $45, which was great.
- 5 min walk to the park, can't be beat.

I would stay at the cabin again if we got a great deal like we did this time. I would bring my own bedding and something to make the futons more comfortable. If it was more expensive, as I imagine it is during peak season, I might not pick this place.

Lastly, Cedar Point is awesome!

We've used Lighthouse Point during the summer and in the fall since we sold our camper. The packages available are super and budget friendly. We had 8 adults every time we've used the cabins. It's a bit crowded when getting ready to enjoy the park in the morning, but we made it work. I would recommend staying here. Staff is efficient when signing in for the weekend and when we needed more towels or blankets, the service was awesome!

Our weekend at CP was AWESOME! There were 7 adults and 1 teen in our Lighthouse Point Cabin and we had a wonderful time. Already planning our trip for next year. The HalloWeekends Package was wonderful and very affordable for those of us on a very limited budget. Our only complaint with our cabin was the cleanliness or I should say, lack of. We had to overlook several spiderwebs in the windows and lots of grime (including hair) around the baseboard on the floors. Our cabin carpets had not been swept and the laminate floors had not been cleaned before our arrival. We called to request cleaning and they were there very quickly, however, even after cleaning there was still a lot of dirt. We were really grossed out when we closed our blinds! Let's just say, don't wipe up any spills on the floor with a white wash cloth.

All in all it was a wonderful stay and an insane time at CP! We will be back, and we laughed off the spiders and their webs as added decorations for HalloWeekends!

If you are from the Midwest and wish you could visit the ocean more, stay at Lighthouse Point at Cedar Point! Our patio overlooked Lake Erie, but it might as well have been the Atlantic Ocean. The view and sound of the waves coming ashore and the breathtaking sunsets are just two of the reasons to choose to stay here. Then, you have the thrilling roller coasters out your bedroom windows to remind you why you are here. You get to enter the park an hour early and this makes a world of difference when you can walk right on one of your favorite roller coasters and beat the crowds later. Definitely worth the money and such a fun place to stay. Come back during the day for a lunch or snacks and then hop right back into the thrills of Cedar Point.

Room Tip: We loved our cottage #64 because it was on the end. We seemed to have a bit more privacy and then w...
