“Great Value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2007

We stayed here for three nights and overall it was very nice. Our boys, ages 8 and 10, loved the pool and the fact that it was open till 11pm. The hotel was very clean even though it was pretty full. The room was clean and not a bad size. The price you can't beat. We stayed at Castaway Bay last year and for $300 night it was a dump so we will for sure be going back to Breakers Express.

Worst hotel I've ever stayed at. Walls were paper thin and you could hear everyone and everything out in the hallways. Beds were uncomfortable and our toliet stopped working the day we were there. Staff was okay, rooms were clean. Pool was small. Not worth the money.

We just got back from this hotel yesterday and was quite suprised on how nice it was. The check in went very smooth and the breakfast coupons they gave us were great

The pool was nice for the kids with a lifeguard on duty full time. The location was five minutes away from CP.

My only compaints with the hotel is the hallways could be a little cleaner and the neighborhood around was a little scary. They had a security guard walking the parking lot all night long which makes me think crime does happen there.

I would stay at this hotel again and feel it is a great hotel for the money.

This is a no-frills place to spend the night while at Cedar Point. Its main advantages are close proximity to the park, and early park entry privileges. During our stay, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was clean. Beyond that, the hotel is fairly new, cheaply constructed and has few amenities. It's about what one would expect at a Motel 6. If you buy a package that includes tickets for continental breakfast, don't expect much. One ticket will get you a doughnut or a small box of cereal, and a drink. You pay for anything beyond that. If you go in with low expectations, you should be OK.

This was actually the first time I read any reviews on the Breakers Express being that we stayed there on our trip to Cedar Point last year at about this time and I am thoroughly disapointed (with the reviews). We were recommended to the hotel, so we weren't worried based on the hearsay evidence.

There were 3 of us in one room with two double beds and it was just fine. I read people complaining about broken toilets etc. We never had that problem. All ammenities in the restroom worked fine, the water pressure was good, room was clean. The beds, like others have said, are definetely not like your Sealy sleep number bed at home; but common, what did you expect at this rate?

The pool and the hottub at the hotel are great. Hottub is just perfect. Pool was a bit cold in early June, but then, that is to be expected. The people working there were very nice. We had no problems at all. I see other people criticizing the towel service. Ours was perfect. 3 of us always had an abundance of towels that were always clean and replaced daily. We had no problems with littering in the room. The room also smelled fine. I read a lot of strange complaints about the hotel just now, but you really have to narrow it down to it's cost effectiveness. We were also there to sleep only. We were out at Cedar Point between about 10 am and 10 pm on the daily. Everything was in order upon arrival to our hotel room. Elevators worked fine. No, our feet did not get stuck to the floors as other people have suggested!

Honestly, to be frank. This hotel is the best value for the money. If you are there to utilize it for sleeping purposes only while visiting Cedar Point, than it is a fantastic hotel. It is obviously NOT the Ritz Carlton or even a Hilton etc etc. The word "express" should tell you that it's not going to be 5-star. So stop complaining!!

We are from Toronto, ON, Canada and after the 6 hour drive, it's nice to just have a place to call our own, even if only for two nights (we were there between fri-sun in june of 2006).

I completely, 100% recommend this hotel to all on a budget and there to make the best of their time at Cedar Point. If you are going to complain about every little thing, than obviously you will complain about this hotel because you have nothing better to do with your time. Breakers Express is WONDERFUL for your family and for all ages and you should definetely stay there. Take it me, the only reviewer that should matter.....

Americans complain about absolutely everything! Just Stay here! It's a great place and so very close to CP. C'est finis!

We booked a stay at Breakers Express for July 3rd & 4th 2007 to be close to the park & get early admission. The room was filthy. There were empty pizza boxes and cups, the toilet was clogged, one bed had dirty sheets and the other bed had no sheets.

The staff at the front desk was very slow and incompetent. After waiting a half hour in line (at 11PM), they would not switch us to a clean room to our satisfaction, then they tried to charge us a $50 cancellation fee when we told them we were leaving.

Avoid this place at all costs! There are over 80 hotels in the Cedar Point area - find a good one among them.

Love the location, early entry into Cedar Point, but the beds should be reported as torture devices. Never have I been so aware of springs in a mattress! The problem is the same with most Cedar Point resorts, you're staying there because it's convenient and believe me they know this! Best bet is to rent/buy an RV and stay at Lighthouse Point.
