Following a long day at Cedar Point, my boyfriend and I were starving and it was late. Not being from the area (in town for just the park) we used Trip Advisor to locate a well reviewed location to grab some chow. We found Chet and Matt's Pizza. On pulling up to the location it looked like it could have been a chain but to our great surprise it isn't. Upon entering we were greeted and seated immediately. Now let me say it was nearing closing time and the restaurant was pretty empty. Even so our waitress was at our table immediately and promptly greeted us and took our drink order. Back in a flash. We asked about a couple of different pizza's and she explained them thoroughly. We decided on the 12" Panther's All Meat Pizza. It was brought out to us quickly, bubbly hot and looking tasty. And it was so very good. The crust was thin and cooked perfectly. The bottom was crispy and the crust was chewy. The toppings were fresh and very flavorful. Our waitress continued to stop by to check on us and chat about our day during our meal. The pizza was more than the two of us could finish, along with our pitcher of beer, so we had it boxed. While we were finishing our adult beverage a gentleman came over to ask us how our meal was. We told him it was excellent and asked if he was the manager, we wanted to compliment him on the staff and the food. To our delight it was one of the owner's, Chet. He introduced himself and asked about us. So we chatted for a bit. He excused himself for a few minutes and returned with another pizza he wanted us to try. His deep dish version of the All Meat pizza that we had just eaten. Again it was well cooked. Deep, thick on the bottom, cooked perfectly with chewy crust on the sides. The toppings were the same delicious ones we had already enjoyed. We would definitely recommend this as well. It keeps getting better. We chat some more with him and learn about his business and his business partner. He insists we add some of the deep dish to our purchased left over pizza in our box. What could we say. Poof...he disappears again. Wait for it.....another pizza appears on his table this time. He had been in the kitchen whipping up a Chicken Fajita Pizza. Here try this one he says as he brings us each a slice from his pie. WOW! This is the best Chicken Fajita Pizza we've ever had. Juicy chicken, just the right amount of seasoning and sauce and the cheese was too die for. We enjoyed his company and that of his staff as they began closing for the evening. Doors locked but we stayed and chatted for a bit longer. He told us about his King Kong pizza challenge and showed us the tray it's cooked on...it's as big around a one of the four seater tables. I can't imagine anyone finishing it all by them selves after he told us how many pounds of dough, meat, cheese, etc., that goes into making it but it would be a sight to behold. He again insists we take some of the fajita pizza with us "for breakfast" he says. We had told him we were getting up early for a trip back into Pitttsburgh for our last night. (We live in Florida.) Such a wonderful end to our fun packed day at the park. It was a pleasure meeting Chet and his lovely staff and the pizza is a must. If we find ourselves in the area again in the future we will definitely be back.
