“Decent Stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2013

We stayed here to visit Cedar Point. Check in was smooth. Room was in good shape with t.v, mini fridge and microwave. Breakfast in the morning was good with a nice selection. Overall clean hotel with nice staff and great location to Cedar Point. Will stay again but in a room toward the back of the hotel as trains pass through in the middle of the night.

The staff, both at check-in, and at check-out, were far from friendly. In fact, I was a bit surprised by the lack of friendliness.

As to the room, it was clean and nothing was broken or out of order that we noticed. We arrived at about 9 PM and left by 8 AM in the morning so our time there was brief and all we really wanted was a place to sleep. As to the bed and bedding it was clean and more than satisfactory. The shower unit was a single fiberglass unit that looked in relatively new condition.

The complimentary breakfast was very basic. Some cereal, milk, and packaged muffins and rolls. Nothing special. Also, they had Nature Valley Trail Mix Fruit and Nut bars. That was it. The biggest odd thing was that the breakfast time began at 8 AM. That was a first. I've never heard of one starting so late.

We paid $41.40 with all fees and taxes. I wouldn't pay more than this for a hotel of this caliber.

Room Tip: I purchased the room at the last minute using Priceline Express Deals. I suggest you try this if yo...

My only problem was with the Jacuzzi shower set-up. First, it is a very large tub with the Jacuzzi jets. However, it is the only bathing/showering possibility. You have to step in and out of this huge tub with a pretty wide step-over area. There is nothing to keep you from slipping in the tub - no handles at all! In fact, there is a shower on one curtain (bathroom side) and a shower curtain on the other side (sleeping side). So, no bathroom privacy (or not much). I would think older people would find this room EXCEEDINGLY difficulty to shower in. However, the hotel was clean, in a great location, at a great Winter price. As the other reviews mention - there are non-stop trains going by (which I rather liked!)

Room Tip: See if there are rooms with regular showers. Ask for rooms at the very back if noise bothers you.

Can't think of anything negative to say about this motel. Obviously it's nothing fancy but it was clean and comfortable and they allow dogs. It was cold and rainy the night we arrived but our room was nice and toasty! We will definitely stay here again !

After constantly reading reviews and prices for hotels I opted to stay here on my final Cedar Point trip of the year. I was looking to cut some costs since I've already spent plenty on several visits to Cedar Point in 2012. If you are using the exterior looks to choose your hotel you will probably skip by this place. It's a basic looking older exterior but it's what's on the inside that counts. The pool (small) was closed this time of the year and I didn't try the free breakfast so I have no comments on those items. The room appeared to have gone through a recent "makeover". The carpet looked new, the walls looked as though they had been recently painted, and the tile in the foyer and bath looked new. The sink is outside the bathroom which makes it easier for two people to be getting ready at the same time. The bathroom was clean as was the rest of the room. The room also came with a microwave and a fridge. My only complaint was that I had a non-smoking room but the faint odor of smoke seemed to be entering the room through the wall outlets on each side of the room. The smell of smoke was also apparent upon leaving the room due to the smoking receptacles placed outside the rooms. The hotel is across the street from a very busy rail system. You won't hear any train whistles but you will here the rumbling of the trains as they pass by at all hours of the day.

Hotel is a fine choice for a budget stay. Houskeeping only did half the job, though; just left. new towels and made the bed. The trash wasn't dumped, floor wasn't vacuumed, and coffee.was not restocked. While I would still recomend this hotel, do remember there's a reason the price is so low.
