“great food and service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2010

we went to the restaurant with no idea what to expect...i think we had 20 people, half of them being kids 15 and most under . we went early, 5ish. our server was so nice, patient and efficient, a little pricey but everyone really enjoyed their meals. would go back in a heartbeat. we were all really pleased with all of our expierences with cedar point, our server has been working there for 27 years[cedar point] . that's gotta say something about the company.

“Wonderful Restaurant!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2010

This restaurant was a true gem! The seafood was awesome and the Bernaise sauce, wow! Fresh asparagus was cooked to tender crisp and the desserts were excellent. The wine by the glass was reasonably priced. Even the butter that came with the rolls was wonderful - two types, plain and the other flavored. The service was great and timed well. The view of the bay is lovely and there is an outdoor area for dining as well. The only negatives were the Lyonnaise potatoes which were quite dry and the Mediterranean salad which had regular black olives instead of Calamata olives. Overall this restaurant is a real stand out.

“Would have been happier at McDonalds”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2010

I have been to Bay Harbor several times and this last time was just a complete waste of money and time. We spent $90 for two people. We first got there and it was completely open and was told it was going to be a 15 minute wait. After 20 minutes I asked how much longer. Finally in 10 more minutes we got our table. By this time I was so frustrated by the lack of professionalism by the servers/bartenders/hostess that I wanted to scream at someone. But during our entire visit there we never encountered anyone who appeared to be in charge. Servers were going behind the bar and making their own drinks because their customers were upset that they didn't have their drinks yet. If it was the bartender all she did was whine about how hot it was in there and turn down the heat. Keep in mind that there was a group of high school kids there for prom so the poor girls were freezing. The drinks were not consistant, nor were they close to being good. It is very obvious that they are in need of a new front house manager. The server we had was wonderful. We tipped well because she was the only professional server there. The food was good. It was not worth the money that we spent. Half of his $28 prime rib was all fat. I had a seafood dish that was dry, unimagatinative, and way too small for the money. We are not afraid to spend a lot of money on a great dinning experience. This was not worth the money at all, I would have rather ate at McDonalds!

“Bay Harbor Inn was great!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2008

While it's one of the most expensive restaurants in Sandusky, it is by far worth it. Enjoyed dinner there in the bar on a Saturday night with some friends. All of the appetizers (bruschetta, stuffed mushrooms and crabcakes) were wonderful, though the mushrooms a little dry. Our glasses were never empty. I enjoyed the crab stuffed chicken, which comes in a small crock and is covered in a white cheese. It was extremely hot, so I had to wait a few minutes before enjoying. My husband enjoyed the prime rib, which came out medium rare instead of rare, but he still enjoyed it. Even though this is a Lake Erie town and restaurant, the seafood is fresh daily and delicious. The daily specials were Lake Erie fish, walleye and yellow perch. They don't list prices on the website, but my chicken was $21 and the prime rib $30.

Even though it is a Cedar Point restaurant, don't expect to go in and eat after a long day at the park wearing tshirts and cutoff shorts and tennis shoes. They do uphold a nicer dress code, we saw them turn people away at the hostess stand.
