“Very pleasantly surprised”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013

We are visiting Cedar Point theme park. Amidst the chains is this nice place at the harbor. I am a food snob, so the most I expected was adequate food that wasn't fried. We went right before closing and were the only people inside. They have a decent wine list by the glass and full bar. The bread basket was consumed immediately, both the multigrain wheat bread and the french bread, with regular and kalamata olive butter.

The watercress and pear salad was amazing. Everything was super fresh and the ingredients were well balanced. The blacked halibut was also delicious, although I did not try the mango/pineapple salsa. Rice was good. The tenderloin was cooked perfectly, tender, and had nice flavor. It came with vegetables and gouda mashed potatoes which were also quite good. I wish I ad room for dessert.

Nice service with suggestions and friendliness.

Total cost with generous tip, around $105. Although more than you wan to pay for every meal at a theme park, if you need a break from unhealthy food, this is the place.

“Excellent meal on 5-16-2013”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2013

We arrived around 7pm and had a nice table. We had reservations but didn't need them as there were several open tables. Amy our waitress was very attentive and did an excellent job. We started with crab cakes and fish tacos, both were excellent and the presentation was very nice. For our entrees I had the fillet and lobster tail and my girlfriend had the blackened grouper oscar. Both were prepared perfectly. We both enjoyed our meals and beautiful sunset. The wine list was adequate, and we easily paired our meals with some savory selections. Very nice night.

“Great for locals or visitors”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

We went for opening weekend. We were disappointed that they are no longer open during the winter months. Hopefully this will change. So we were very excited to eat at one of our favorite restaurants in the Lake Erie Shores and Islands area. This restaurant was hoppin! But the staff did an excellent job. They are known for their steaks and seafood. Our favorite appetizer is the escargot. They had a soup that was out of this world. It was the cream of asparagus. This is an upper scale restaurant. So they are priced accordingly. The view is awesome. You don’t want to miss this restaurant if you are in our area. Last year they were open for lunch also with a lighter menu. So check them out for lunch also. If you are not going into the park, I believe they will validate your parking ticket so you do not have to pay for parking. We have season passes.

“My favorite place to dine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013

The food is out of this world good! I love the Bay Harbor Salad with the coconut, shrimp, mandarin oranges, strawberries and lime dressing. It's unbelievabley good. The appetizers are great (I loved the ceviche that had several years ago, and my husband always gets the Cajun Surf and Turf).

The wait staff is always friendly and know the menu. Service is impecable. The prices are a little high, but you get great quality in the meal. I highly reccommend Bay Harbor.

“Great New Years Eve place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013 via mobile

This place has been around or years. The food is always good but service was spotty except in the last few years and it has been great. They only seat so many at certain times which makes the evening extremely enjoyable and relaxing. Our party of 4 all enjoyed the Bay Harbor salad which is absolutely Devine. Previous years it has been a mix of greens and while this year it was lettuce it is still really good. I am sure, based on the fact they have closed for the winter, the first time in 35 years, that they have had to cut costs due to our lovely economy. We had Oscar grouper that was extremely good and scallops, that were not described as blackened ( probably would not have ordered had they said blackened) but appeared so when delivered and they were as sweet and tender as any I have ever had. Fantabulous. Cooked to perfection. The gentlemen in our party opted for two appetizers(way too much food) and got clam chowder which I did not try but appeared to have way too many potatoes to extend it, but the recipient classified it as good but not great. Hubby got the French onion, while it was very good, we had just came back from New England where we had some outstanding onion soup, so just not quite as good as that was. Would not hesitate to order again. Hubby had the sweet and spicy shrimp and he was not disappointed. It is served with a lime dressed coleslaw that is really good. The other gent ordered the stuffed portabella and he ended up taking it home because, between the soup and salad, he had enough. Am sad that they have closed for the winter as we usually celebrate a few birthdays between now and tourist season, when we stay away from it. But understand. Been going for New Years at least 4 years and look forward to going for 2013. Thank you Bay Harbor!
