Hello, this is CP Veteran giving the visitors to Trip Advisor and reading reviews and considering Cedar Point as a vacation spot PLEASE read this review and see if it is a fit for you, because if it is then you MUST visit!!!

I have been visiting the Park for 32 years now. I rode my first Coaster there (Mine Ride in 1976) and latest ride there (Maverick in 2008). I lived in Ohio for 35 years and just recently put up roots in Tampa (and @ Busch Gardens, see that review) - but since I was in Ohio for a visit I HAD to go to Cedar Point. You will have a GREAT VISIT if you FOLLOW THESE TIPS:
1. DO NOT GO OPENING WEEKEND, HOLIDAYS, (ESP. JULY 4th, OR LABOR DAY). The park is just too crowded and rides are weak and may break, lots of afternoon t-storms, ect.. The best times to visit are during the week in May(except opening weekend) or late August.
2. If you are traveling from out of town, plan to stay at least 3 or 4 days to enjoy everything. There are a lot of great vacation packages for this, there is a water park and live shows and tons to do, plan for a few days to get it all in, like Las Vegas(see that review).
3. Save some money, PARKING and EATING costs a lot, so pack a picnic lunch and eat at the famous picnic pavillion (can't do that @ Busch Gardens), and stay at one of the Hotels which is a walk away.
4. DO EAT while you are at the Park some FAMOUS CEDAR POINT FRENCH FRIES and FRIED CHEESE at the "Happy Friar" stand across from Gemini, the best fries in the world.
5. VISIT the BACK of the park in the MORNING and the FRONT of the Park in the AFTERNOON, the crowds tend to stay up front at open and migrate their way back throughout the day, stay away from the traffic flow.
6. Watch FIREWORKS and afterward RUN to the Magnum for a great late-night no wait ride!!!

Classic Cedar Point tips from a true veteran who has been there seen it all I DO MISS WHITE WATER LANDING and MILL RACE they always have to tear down one ride to put in another the space for Coasters is tight but HAVE FUN you won't be disappointed. VISIT the WEBSITE and PLAN before you go there are GREAT TIPS there too!!!

We just got back from a 4 day camping trip to Cedar Point. We stayed at the campers Village right outside the park. We could see many of the coasters right outside our windows. Although we have been here many times before this was a great trip because our oldest son was finally tall enough to ride everything. Although he chickened out on the Dragster(that thing is pretty tall!) he braved everything else! The lines were shorter on Saturday night than on any other day believe it or not(we went Saturday-Tusday) Although we weathered some hot temps(and our air broke down the first night!) and some bad storms(monday I guess there were reports of Water spouts on the lake and the sierns were going off) we had a great time and got to ride everything with little or no wait except the Maverick(not sure if I spelled that right). Cannot wait to go back in September!

I just returned from 2 days at Cedar Point. As with previous visits there, my party and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We found the park to be clean and the staff courteous. Only one roller coaster was down for the entire visit (Wildcat), although Maverick was down for the one day (June 13). Mid-week in June is a perfect time to go to the park. The lines are short for most rides except the big 3 coasters and Raptor. Max wait for Millenium Force and TTD was 30 minutes. The other rides were 5-15 minutes. One curious aberration was the line for Disaster Transport. Why would anyone wait 45 min to go on this ride? This is one lame coaster and, IMO, Cedar Point should demolish it and replace it with a more thrilling indoor coaster like the one at MGM Orlando.
Overall, a great amusement park.

This is such a fun park! I've only been once because I live so far away, but that visit was one of the best. If you love roller coasters, this is the park for you. Other than that, there are some great family rides there too. Some lines were pretty bad but it's worth it! (there are bad lines at every park anyway). If your ever going to Cleveland or Toledo, make sure you stop by Cedar Point in Sandusky!!!!!

Cedar Point is an awesome park. It has 16 great coaster, along with many other rides. The best days to go are in the middle of the week, the lines tend to be a bit shorter, but for the big rides expect a long wait. For rides like Top Thrill Dragster, and Millennium forces expect to wait at least an hour or more. The food is great pretty much everywhere. You need to visit this park!!!
