This hotel was quite expensive. You are looking at $300+ per night for a suite room in the newer tower section of this hotel. You are paying for convenience mostly. The we had were pretty nice with a view of Lake Erie. My daughter and her husband stood in the older section of the hotel. There room was not as nice. Had an old smell to it. Both were very large and roomy. They definitely need to update there TV's. Need LCD flat screens not the small box of the 70 - 80's. There was good maid service.
Several restaurants were located in the hotel and nearby. We ate at TGI Fridays twice. Pretty good.
Hotel offered Cedar Point all-day tickets for $29 per person which was very good. We walked to the park which only took 5 minutes. Had early entry too. Beat the biggest crowds. Still had to wait in line however at one of the most popular rides.
I would not recommend swimming in Lake Erie. Pretty nasty. As we were walking on the beach, we walked past an area that looked like the BP oil spill. Black water. Yuck!!! Lifeguards watched everyone like an eagle. Put your foot in the water somewhere where you were not suppose to and you get yelled at.
Overall, it was very good. The price was the biggest drawback. Just weigh your options. You will pay for convenience.
