“A lovely getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2012

We have been visiting Glenlaurel on a regular basis for the past ten years. We usually stay in the cottages because of their comfortable size, privacy and view of the gorge. The themed decor is lovely and the carved mantles are exquisite. We have found the breakfasts to be very delicious - with scones as a starter and a nice choice of either a savory or sweet entree. The 7-course Saturday meal has provided us with some memorable evenings - yes, it is pricey but is a a very nice experience. One of the events that brings us to the area is the Winter Hike - an annual walk held around the 3rd Saturday of January where there is an organized hike from Old Man's cave to Cedar Falls and then down to Ash Cave if you want to go the full 6 miles.

This was our first visit and there was no room for improvement at this Scottish-themed Inn. The buildings/grounds/setting... just gorgeous. Every employee... laser-focused on the guest. Every request was happily taken and quickly honored. The staff's attention to detail was impressive... from the anniversary gift to my wife's gluten-free meals. The hiking trail on the grounds was a beautiful, serene walk. When we visit next, we'll play their Scottish links course (with their old-style Scottish clubs, no less). Thanks, GlenLaurel, for treating us to a great extended weekend. PS We highly recommend the 7-course dinner. It was a memorable experience, from the social hour on the deck to the bag piper calling us to dinner to the amazing gourmet food.

This was our 2nd visit to Glenlaurel. This time stayed in a East Croft. Loved the screened porch, hot tub and extra living space of a croft. Food as always was wonderful. My husband tried the Scottish Links Golf and thought it was entertaining. I walked along with him and the course is very pretty and a great opportunity to see some wildlife (deer and bunnies). We love walking the gorge in the morning before breakfast, it is a great way to start the day.

We truly appreciate your comments. The east crofts are a guest favorite and the screened porches are a fabulous treat too. The Links Course is a really neat amenity and we’re so glad you were able to give it a swing! We hope to see you again soon.

Great food, superior lodging---Glenlaurel has it all. We tried the golf course---Scottish style---this time and found it entertaining as well as challenging. Chef Erik's food, as usual, was outstanding. The Pub is now able to serve wine and limited mixed drinks.

Thank you so much for your positive review. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your visit and the fabulous dinner prepared by Chef Erik! Our staff is committed to treating you like royalty and to make sure that you have the perfect get-away you deserve. We will be adding more liquor and wine selections as we build our list and will be able to provide more choices in the future. Glad to hear you thought the Scottish Links was a challenge; it’s a great feature and harkens back to Scotland.

This is our favorite place to relax and take in the beauty of the Hocking Hills. The inn
has beautiful cottages and rooms, each one is furnished beautifully and with comfort in mind.
We love to stay in The McCleod cottage, although we have never been disappointed in any
of the accomadations. Most impressive is the expert staff, our every need or request is
tended to. They are there to make sure your stay is perfect. The chef is more than amazing,
the meals are superb, all skillfully prepared. The grounds are lovely, a very peacful setting.
The new scottish golf course is a great new addition to the property and the scottish ambience
of Glenlaurel.

Room Tip: The screened in porch in the 4 East crofts is lovely in summer. All cottages and crofts have firep...

Tucked away in the rolling hills outside of Logan, Ohio is a hidden gem. My wife and I recently discovered the Glenlaurel Inn and know that we will be going back. The staff was corteous, the grounds well-kept and the food was FANTASTIC. They have also recently added an 8 hole sand tee/green golf course which pays hommage to the games' origin with old hickory shaft clubs - very unique and enjoyable.
