“Should have stayed at a bed and breakfast.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

This place is expensive for what you get. We stayed at a house one night and 2 nights here. The house was way cheaper and our room was 10 times better. We totally down graded coming here. The pool bar was so discusting. There are a million bugs floating in it, the water is so cloudy and the actual bar is so filthy. There was a bar tender working iI don't understand why he wouldn't wipe it down before he started serving drinks. Our room didn't have a window, it was like a cave. The tub wouldn't drain. It was close to everything but take my advice and check out the bed and breakfasts first. We stayed at the Toledo house. it was so much cheaper and we had our own little front porch and it was still really close to everything.

We stayed here during the week with some of my wife's coworkers for a night of fun. It is in a great location with lots to do around. The lobby is in a strange place off an alley and had we not taken a cab to the hotel i think i would have had a hard time finding it. The alley did smell of garbage if the wind was shifted right, but none if the smell was passed into the hotel. The lobby also had a subway attached which was very convienent when you wanted a quick bite while at the pool. The room was very plain, no carpet, very little lighting, and small. It did have a small fridge which was nice to keep leftovers or drinks cold. If your on the island to party this is the place to stay. We didn't have our kids, but if we had I would not have wanted to stay here.

Went to put in bay for a one night getaway. We stayed in a king jacuzzi suite in the new portion of the resort. Room was very clean and nice. It's not a resort with a bunch of frills but for the price we paid we were happy. Staff was kind and gave us extra towels with no issues. You have to understand the environment you are staying in. Our stay was during the week so it was pretty low key with little noise.

I just stayed at the Commodore Resort this past week and am sorry to say I was not impressed with the staff or the accomodations. We stayed in the "new" section of the hotel and I was surprised at the lack of amenities for a "resort." They don't even supply a hair dryer in the room! Thank goodness I brought my own!!! No coffee maker or tissues are provided either. The ice maker on our floor was out-of-service and when my fiancee asked where the nearest working ice maker was the girl at the front desk gave him incorrect information. He spent a good 10 minutes looking for a working ice maker. In addition, it was like pulling teeth to get extra towels. And worst of all, the air conditioner in our didn't work! A entire new unit had to be installed our second day there WHILE WE WERE TRYING TO GET READY TO GO OUT!!!! Very inconvenient to say the least. We were not even offered a discount for our trouble!!!! The only positive part of the hotel is the pool with swim-up bar. The pool area includes tiki-type structures and a waterfall. This part of the hotel was lovely but other than that I was not at all impressed. Overall our stay was very disappointing.

Room Tip: Choose the jacuzzi room.

Well...where should I start? Went to Put-In bay for a girls weekend and we had a great time! Not because of the hotel, but because of the company we were in. The four of us love to party and hang out, but this place takes it to a whole new level of crazy! If you wanna party and don't care how people are dressed, if they are drunk or if they hit on you...this is your place! Although the rooms are very small, it was perfect four the four of us. The rooms do have a fridge, but no coffee makers. You can request a coffee maker at guest services, but no, they do not have any coffee or filters. I would highly suggest bringing a cooler of your own if you are wanting refreshments, but don't want to pay a high price. They do not have ice machines available for guests, but do sell it by the bag for $2. Absolutely no alcohol is allowed to be brought into the pool area and yes...they do search your bags! Bottom line, it's a ginormous adult Spring break that makes even MTv's Real World look like a church service!

Room Tip: Get a 2nd story room and in one of the outter buildings!

Your opinion of the Commodore is going to vary greatly on the level of your expectations. I stayed there last weekend for a bachelor party of 10 guys and it was exactly what we needed. And for additional perspective, we are all in our 30's.

One of our rooms was the large 8 person room. This worked great as the main hangout location during downtime. We were able to use the two tables in the room to set up makeshift beer pong.

The staff of the hotel is great. They are very friendly and the cleaning crew stocked us up with plenty of clean towels, soap, shampoo, etc.

If you're headed to PIB with a group looking for a fun weekend, you can stay here knowing you won't have to worry about getting noise complaints and having to take the party elsewhere.

Subway in lobby open until 3am is clutch!

If I could rate this place worse than terrible, I would.
ONLY if you are in your early 20s, want to come "home" at 3:30 AM, roaring drunk at the top of your lungs, and have no interest in getting any sleep, ever, should you even consider staying here.
Lack of amenities for a "resort" was ridiculous. No tissues. No glass glasses. No coffee-maker. TV remote didn't work. Walls are paper thin.
I called the front desk at 4AM to ask if they could please ask the people in the hallway, just down from the front desk, to please keep the noise down, and was told that "it's a party hotel."
Yeah, well...put that in your name, maybe, and don't pose as a real hotel.
The pool area looked nice, and the Subway in the lobby seems convenient, but, then again, there are 50 real restaurants within walking distance.
At the full prices they charge, they are a TOTAL ripoff. I plan to come back to Put-in-Bay again this season, but I'd honestly stay under a bridge before I'd stay at the Commodore again.
God-awful. Don't make this mistake.

Room Tip: The only tip I can think of is, stay somewhere else. Anywhere else. Sneak onto someone's boat if...
