Stayed here this past weekend. While you can't beat the location, I would prefer a short walk or quick taxi ride instead of being over charged for this dump. Our room was described as a "Luxury" suite on the website and it was anything but. The room was large and could sleep six but the bathroom was extremely small, the double vanity and wet bar did not exist. The room was not clean nor well maintained. The walls are paper thin. At 4:00am the guests in the next room were still going strong. A call to management yielded no action and caused us a long sleepless night. When we checked out and returned our keys we were not asked, "How was your stay." Management is probably afraid to ask because they don't want to hear the answer.

Room Tip: Stay elsewhere.

It is right downtown in the middle of everyting and that part was great!! We booked a school's out special and you cant beat that deal. We had a golf cart for our entire stay and a two room suite. This place with a little tlc could be very good. It the begenning of the season and a little extra cleaning sould of happened you would think. The fan in the bathroom was rather dirty. Top of door facings need dusting, lighting fixtures needed dusted, and stains on the arm of the sofa. I know they have tons of kids here and they trash the place but I expected a little more. It's not a place I would stay again. The music bumped until 2:30 in the AM and there was no sleeping during that time. We had never stayed at Put In Bay and didn't know what we were getting into. There are other places that might be a little quieter. We like to party but we came in at 12:30 and expected to go to bed and that wasn't happening.

I stayed here last weekend with a group of friends for the weekend and their location is AMAZING! They are smack dab in the middle of downtown and party central! The rooms have been updated a bit since the last time I went--which is good. They have an awesome dog Wizzer that looks like a fox in the window all the time that i love seeing when i come here! Bottom line--if you want to be in the middle of all the action, this is the place to stay!!! Kendra at the office took care of us when we were locked out of our room--thanks Kendra-- you rock!!

Room Tip: Room 10# has the best view of the entire downtown & lake!

I've stayed with friends many times at this hotel, mainly because they like being in it's location. I think it's an absolute dump run by people who shouldn't be running a business. The Island itself has come a long way in the past decade and with that have come a few more nicer hotels but it's still pretty much a monoply so they can all overcharge for their small window of time to make money during the summer. Only other placed we stayed at is the Grand Islander and it is a little cheaper and the rooms are in a little better shape. In the grand scheme of things, it's a small island and for $3 a person you can take a cab anywhere so consider some of the hotels off the main strip.

Absolutely terrible hotel. "Managers Special" touts a 2 bedroom luxury suite on the second level including golf cart rental. We booked 4 "suites" and did not get anything near promised except a 1st floor room with a view of mopeds and gas cans and a cart that did not work. Management was unprofessional and untrained and not interested in providing any customer service, let alone getting what you paid for. Would warn all future travelers to select another location, and steer clear of the Put in Bay Conference Center also as they own both establishments. Sent e-mail complaint, no response, but not a surprise as "manager" is owners daughter. Also filing complaint with BBB. Will never stay here again.

My husband and I love Put in bay and we take a couple of days away from our kids every year there for our anniversary. We made the horrible mistake of leaving cash in our room tucked away in our suitcase. The next morning when I went to get some more cash out of the envelope......it was all gone! The very young an unproffessional staff was not only rude but basically blew off our claim we even had cash in the room to begin with. They did not appologize, nor try to help us in any way. We asked to talk to the owner or upper management but we were told there was only an owner who only had a cell number that she could not give out. She took out number and claimed she would have him call us, good thing I did not hold my breath waiting on that call back because it has never happened. We filed a police report and will never stay there again!

We left hotel before we even stayed losing $400 non refundable deposit. Any hotel would be a better choice. The management is not trained in hospitality but have been trained to confront guests to ensure hotel policy is adhered to. We were celebrating a girls weekend and had a fifth friend join us last minute, we openly disclosed to the staff we had 5 guest. They treated us so rudely and insisted the only option was a suite for a 4 star hotel price. By the way the entire first level has a view of rental golf carts.
