“Jack Hanna's Domaine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2013

On our trip south, we decided to make a stop in Columbus, specifically to visit the world-famous Columbus Zoo. What a great experience. We learned so much about what is being done to save the animals along with the environment. It's quite interesting to see what Jack Hanna and his team have done so far and what the plans are for the future. It's very easy to walk around the zoo and in the winter, there are plenty of opportunities to warm up in the various buildings, including the aquarium. My favourite part was seeing the manatees and also the huge aquarium filled with colourful fish.

“Great deal on Wildlights at the Columbus Zoo!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2013

On November 23rd I took my family to the 25th anniversary of Wildlights at the Columbus Zoo. Just as I was about to buy tickets, a lady asked if I would like half-price ticket coupons from Wendy's. We used one coupon to buy two BOGO tickets. Worth checking out at Wendy's before you go! It was a chilly night but ducking in and out of the inside animal exhibits warms you up. Along with a cup or two of hot chocolate! We hadn't gone to Wildlights in several years and it's better than ever. The light show to music around the lake is a real treat. The tropical aquarium was our favorite with the opportunity to see colorful fish close up. When it's cold and snowy outside and you're watching the fish it's like a mini-vacation to a warm, sunny place. Lot's of fun!

“Family-friendly learning experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2013

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium deserves its No. 1 national ranking. They understand how to make each visit an opportunity for all family members to learn about the animals, what is being done to save species and how to be more environmentally aware. Our grandsons travel from St. Louis each year to attend Zoo Camp, and we are consistently impressed with the camp's organization, age-appropriate activities and focus on hands-on learning. The zoo grounds are clean and well maintained. There also are many adult-oriented events throughout the year that are always enjoyable. The water park that is also part of the zoo is a very attractive venue for families. We have held annual memberships to the zoo for years.

“Wildlights was awesome!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2013

The Zoo was better than we expected at night. I was surprised by the number of animal buildings to warm up in. We waited for pictures with Santa and were happily surprised that no flash photography was allowed with your personal camera. We waited for Santa diving but he was SO LOW in the tank and not visible. That I recommend skipping, the Polar Bear Express and Polar Pete's Pop-Culture Christmas were much better! The workers at Pete's were great and accommodating. Although it was almost closing, we still got to play in the giant snowglobe. Of course, the lights and music were beautiful.

“Great way to spend a day or even just a couple of hours”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2013

We have been visiting the Columbus Zoo since we moved here in 1992. My kids are now 19 and 17 but we still have a membership. Somedays, we just go to walk around and get some exercise. Other days, we go to check out what's new. It was fun to see the tigers grow from small cubs. Last time we were there, we came across the Bonobos being fed, it was just like watching people. YOu could tell they each had a different personality. When the kids were small, we packed a lunch and then bought a treat. It kept the day affordable. The yearly pass is a bargain if you think you might be able to get back twice in one year. Members get free parking and can come back whenever. We often show up early in the am and then leave by the time the zoo is getting crowded. Too, you can come back and see the zoo lights in the winter!
