“Neat Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2014

Chalet in the Valley is a really cool restaurant. Good for families or couples. Great food and something for everyone. Don't forget to go across the street to the cheese gift shop. This kind of reminds me of an upscale Dutch Pantry. Great service and food!

“Great lunch but no room for dessert!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2014

Between our group of four we had the Award Winning Grilled Cheese, Bavarian Hot Ham 'n Cheese, Chalet Reuben Deluxe and the Alpine Burger. Everything was excellent, but the portions were so big we weren't able to eat dessert - which was a bummer. For side dishes we chose the chicken spaetzle soup, sweet tatertot casserole (a bit too sweet) and rosti (hash browns with Swiss cheese) which were all unique and tasty. When we eat here again we will split the sandwiches and save room for dessert!

“Good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2014

Ate here per recommendation from the Innkeeper at the Bed and Breakfast where we were staying. Food was good, service was good and a well stocked and fresh salad bar. We would eat here again if back in this area. it also seemed to be a local favorite.

“Sunday lunch buffets”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2014

My parents live in the area so we get to The Chalet about 5 times a year or so. So obviously we like it or we would not keep going back.

It's a cute and clean restaurant. Swiss (not Amish as almost all other restaurants in the area are). They have an alpen horn, cow bells, cuckoo clocks as decor. The waitresses are in Swiss dress. Everyone has always been very friendly and efficient.

We were most recently there for Easter Sunday buffet. It's only buffet on any Sunday. For Easter they add lamb on the carved meat menu. It is not a huge buffet selection, but it has variety and is replenished often so the food it hot. Items include: mashed potato and mashed potato casserole, green beans, spaetzle (tiny dumplings), noodles, sweet potato casserole, carved meats (lamb, ham, beef), bread sticks, deep fried shrimp, brautwurt and more that I can't remember. There is a small but loaded salad bar and two soups. Dessert is a choice of a couple of different cakes (which I don't think they make, but are very good).
Price of the Easter Buffet this year was $16.99 for adults.
We will continue to go back.
