We stayed in room 324 at the Inn at Honey Run for our 5th anniversary in September 2005. It's a lovely inn and property. It is very nature-oriented, with furniture and decor made from logs, nature prints throughout, etc.
There are several lodging options, including the famous Honeycombs. We stayed in a mid-level inn room. There was a king bed, desk with chair, bench, armoire with tv in the main area. Then there was another section to the room, a sunken reading nook 2 steps down. In this sunken section there was a leather recliner with ottomon, floor lamp, and a large window seat, which was actually two twin mattresses end-to-end. The roof of this area was pitched and 2 skylights allowed us to watch the stars at night.
The continental breakfast was good - muffins, coffee cake, cereal, yogurt, granola, juice and other beverages. My husband had a delicious omelet. The lunch was just "okay," as was the service. It appears they are working on making the restaurant more high-profile, and I agree that they could use some more training.
Lots of short, easy hiking trails through the surrounding woods. We saw a racoon and (possibly) a young bear. Birdwatchers love the place. There are binoculars available and bird watching accessories for sale, artwork on the walls, CDs playing throughout with bird noises, etc. Lots of books and magazines to browse. Everyone was friendly, the toiletries were great and the robes are very lush and soft.
Overall, a very nice place to stay when visiting Amish country.
