“Stayed in Every Room”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2012

We have traveled to Amish Country for years and have become great friends with Lee Ann Miller. Over the years we have stayed in every room and The Robin's Nest several times each. All the rooms are restful, comfortable, clean. When Lee Ann and/or Amy prepare breakfasts, the food is always incredible and large Amish-style portions are provided. Although Amish Country is heavily traveled in the Autumn, every season offers wonderful opportunities of things to do and The Miller Haus has become our home-base. Lee Ann or Amy will provide you with multitudes of recommendations for places to see and their special shopping suggestions. Spring finds the Miller Haus loaded with bright flowers in their gardens and on tables. Summer breakfasts are loaded with fresh fruits, herbs and garnishes as well as beautiful full flower gardens. Fall views in the area are unmatched during the peak of leaf colors from atop their hill. Then comes winter — life slows even more in Amish Country, as tourist destinations are less crowded. The Miller Haus in winter is breathtaking when covered with a fresh heavy snow. The fireplaces will keep you warm and there are always friendly guests sharing fellowship or a story. Every night also includes some type of a dessert waiting on the dining room tables for those hungry souls before bedtime.

We chose this B&B because it was October and we wanted a country setting. It was perfect! We were in the heart of Amish Country and the trees were turning. To top that off, our hosts were warm and very accommodating. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!

We stayed at the Miller Haus to celebrate my birthday. I have been to other bed and breakfasts and have taken trips to other parts of the region, but this was truly a great experience. We were greeted warmly upon arrival by the innkeepers (Amy and Dan) and were given a tour of the house. Our room was the Cranberry Courting Room, which was filled with antiques and quilts, and had direct access to a deck with a great view of rolling hills and farms. The bed was very comfortable and the room was immaculately clean.

The first evening we were treated to a dessert that I don’t know the name of - it was a slice of pineapple with a layer of caramel on the top. I was told it is a common Amish dish but I had never tried it, and it was superb. I topped it off with a cup of coffee, which was also excellent. The next morning my husband wanted to sleep in but I coerc...er...persuaded him to get up and go to breakfast with me. We got to meet the other guests and had the best breakfast ever....sausage quiche, stewed apples, home fries, and homemade biscuits. That night we had homemade whoopee pies waiting for us. The next morning was Sunday so the breakfast was “continental”, but not the usual muffins and danishes you think of. Instead, we had bacon, toast, homemade jam, stewed apples, bacon quiche and biscuits.

You’d think from this description that I was obsessed with the food. Probably. It’s also worth mentioning, however, that the location is very close to the main strips of antique, quilt, craft, and general stores, as well as near the larger flea markets, restaurants and historical tour sites..

Our last morning there I found Beau (the owner LeeAnn’s black lab) ready to have coffee with me on the porch. As we returned the key on our way out, LeeAnn made us some toast with homemade preserves and offered some orchard apples to take back with us.

Room Tip: All of the rooms are nice. I particularly enjoyed having a door that opened up to the outside porch.

What a treat to return to this wonderful B&B located in the heart of Amish Country! Amy, Dan and Lee Ann could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. We have stayed at other B&B's in the area and always return to Miller Haus. The hospitality, food and views from atop this beautiful setting can not be beat. Love having morning coffee on one of the several porches while experiencing the awesome sunrises and sunsets and listening to the horse drawn buggies of the Amish on the road below the property. Can't wait to visit again!!

Room Tip: My favorite rooms are located on the main level and have private entrances off the back porch as wel...

We have stayed many many times at this wonderful Inn. The hosts are great ...they have
the best breakfasts..served beautifully...think crystal & flowers from the garden! We enjoy their
many porches from which to see the gorgeous scenery. A very relaxing quiet spot, but
close to all shopping, restaurants etc.

We only stayed one night, 10/23, but it was our second visit to the Miller Haus. We can't speak highly enough about our welcome, the hospitality, our room, and the wonderful breakfast, but it's the beautiful setting that makes it so magical. The evening cookies and coffee were especially appreciated, but be alert if you're eating on the deck, Beau the black Lab, LOVES cookies! :o) The Miller Haus is set in the heart of Amish farm-land, yet close enough to Millersburg, Berlin, Mt. Hope, Charm, and all the wonderful surrounding Amish towns & sights. We are already planning a winter retreat with our friends.

Room Tip: All rooms are very nice with wonderful views, but the larger "king" rooms are situated in...
