“Fun fun fun!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013 via mobile

As first time buyers of this chain, we enjoyed it a lot. The prices are a little high for casual use but expected for a destination theme park. The property is very clean and well maintained. The room was HUGE (And we booked the cheapest) the staff was attentive and the water park was fun for all ages (dad & mom 40s, 13, 6, 3) 10/10 would stay again!

We stayed here for two nights. We arrived around 3:30 and our room was ready. We took our bags up and noticed the housekeeper left her rags in there. She saw me putting them in the hallway and apologized profusely. I figured that at least she had cleaned in there :). We went to Kings Island for the evening which is just a short walk from Great Wolf Lodge. Our beds were not too bad and we were well rested. We are early risers so we wished breakfast service would have started before 8:00 a.m. Also, the restaurant staff should enforce that swimwear is not acceptable at the table. The waterpark didn't open until 10:00, which was also a problem for us early birds. We spent all day at the park and at the outdoor pool. The slides were a blast and the lifeguards are friendly and attentive. We had fun at the arcade and at mini-golf, too. Overall, it was a fun little getaway!

June 25-27 we stayed at Great Wolf Park. The family suite was very nice! Dining was an experience i will not repeat. The food didn't look fresh and the meats were tasteless and dry.The wolf pizza place had terrible chicken parm and stromboli.

The water park was fun and better earlier in the week.
Also
Thank God for Starbucks!!!!!

Most of the staff seemed happy! But the place is a little tired and they charge you for every little thing. The prizes in the arcade are too high in points as 20$ doesn't go far.

Room Tip: if you stay, try not to eat there but make a right on 611 to the many local restaurants for better f...

We recently spent the weekend at Great Wolf Lodge and our kids (ages 6, 8 & 10) LOVED every minute of it! We also spent a day at Kings Island - and while the kids enjoyed it they were eager to get back to the indoor waterpark at Great Wolf Lodge - it was the highlight of their trip. As a mom I appreciated the mini-fridge and microwave in the hotel room - we stocked up on snacks which helped keep the trip affordable. The indoor water park was one of the best we've been to - the water slides were even exciting for my husband and I. Something for everyone - from my 9 month old niece to my husband who loves adventure!

We drove from St Louis to go to Kings Island for two days but since it is only a six hour drive we decided to go the Lodge at one o'clock and the fun began! We are a grandmother, son and grand daughter 13. The room was spacious and we had two beds plus a sofa bed and a nice balcony. It has more of a resort feeling. We had checked-in online so were able to pick up our keys, drop our luggage, change and head for the water. It was 90 degrees outside so being inside meant no sunburn tho we did check out the outside pool for a few minutes. All the service people were friendly and helpful. We had a delicious dinner buffet including shrimp and crablegs on a Friday night. We were really hungry so this was a great buffet. We bought fudge at the fudge shop to share later. We saw the King's Islands fireworks from our floor. Parking was no problem. The wristbands opening the doors was great. The howl at the Moon Glow Golf and the Northern Lights Arcade were good diversions. There were a lot of activities for younger children and this is a really pleasant family resort . The only negatives were the beds were hard, needs some new carpeting, more attention to maintenance details.

Room Tip: All the rooms seem good. We were on the top. floor and it was great

I have seen a lot of complaints about water temperature, cleanliness, food, and food prices. Here are my thoughts
This is not a 5 star resort, if that is what you are looking for, then look elsewhere. This is a family getaway that has a lot to offer.
The hotel itself I found was very nice. The rooms are large, very modern, and clean. I believe all come with at least a fridge and
Microwave. I stayed in a standard queen suite and was very happy. The Suites with the separate bedroom for the kids (Wolf Den and Camp) have neat designs with a bunk bed and separate TV for the kids.
The restaurants are what I expect from an “in hotel” restaurant. Camp Critter Bar and Grill serves lunch and dinner. It is comparable to an Applebee’s or Fridays. I had a good burger and fries for $13, kids meals are about $5. Maybe a little pricey, but I did not find it outrageous. If you prefer to go out, there are many restaurants within a short drive. The Moose Cottage is where the breakfast Buffett is and it’s about $12 for breakfast. The food is not great, but it’s convenient. There is a pizza place near the entrance to the water park that has decent (although greasy) pizza and also a great little sweet shop. All in all the food was about what I expected. Don’t have high expectations and you will not be disappointed.
Magic quest is fun, but be prepared to shell out about $40 a kid.
As far as the water park, it was very fun and the kids loved it. It could use some TLC in the paint department (hand rails and under the stairs where there was rust). Other than that it was like any other water park. The water temperature was fine when you got used to it. The building itself is quite warm so not sure why people had issues. My kids ran around all day with no problem. Careful with running as the cement can be a little slippery.
The one issue I had is with their confusing system of tubes. There are 4 types of tubes: Yellow double person, yellow single, green single, and clear single. Each slide uses a specific type of tube and the signs do not explain it (they all say clear tube but that is only for lazy river). The signs need a desperate change to specify exactly which tube is for which ride.
All in all I was very pleased with our stay.

My husband, two daughters (3 and 1) and I spent a night at Great Wolf Lodge after attending a Reds game. We had a wonderful experience! We really appreciated that there was something for kids as small as ours to enjoy! In fact, we could tell they had a blast!
The room was spacious, plenty of room for our pack & play with room to move around it.
We had snacks and drinks from the pool snack bar and took them outside to enjoy a little sunshine and found a wonderful pool out there as well!
We decided to order a pizza for dinner before heading up to our room for the night. The pizza was very good and not too expensive.
We had breakfast at the buffet the next morning. There was something for everyone! We liked the fact that children 3 & under eat free. Very nice, considering they don't eat much anyway.
It was such a fun atmosphere for our girls and us as well! We are looking forward to another trip there soon!
