We never got to sample the food -- we were turned away at the hostess station.
The restaurant hours are posted on the door and lunch, according to the sign, is served from 11:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. We arrived at 2:15 p.m., a little breathless from walking an extended distance at a fast clip to arrive before the end of the lunch service. We walked in and went to the hostess station where a waitress brusquely informed us lunch was over and the place was closed until the dinner hour.
We asked if she could suggest an alternative for a late lunch and she sent us to the Levee in downtown Marietta. We continued our walk and when we arrived at the Levee learned it had lunch service from 11 to 2 and, of course, by now it was well past 2:30.
We were very disappointed by the Buckley's refusal to serve us, even though we were at the restaurant during the posted serving hours. Even minimal hospitality -- the offer of a drink of water, for example, would have been better than the cold shoulder we got. And, we were unhappy to be referred to another restaurant that was already closed. The least the staff could have done was to send us to a place that was open for business.
