“Really good”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2011

We had dinner at the Quarter then went next door to see a movie at the Mariemont Theatre. It was a fun night to do both with the family. The food is really very good. I had the fish taco's. So good. My husband had the slow cooked short ribs, he loved them. Truffle fries delicious, and the guacamole too. Can get busy with the movie next door. If you want to make a night of it, go to Graeters for ice cream after the movie, which is a couple steps away.

“Good Food and Good Wine List”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2011

Sat at the bar which is nice but was a little cramped and it was a week night. The menu has a variety that should please anyone. Unique selection of appetizers. Good wine list even by the glass. This restaurant should be added to your list of places to try. Seems like a place which has many regulars.

“Very good food, nice environment, overpriced”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2009

The food is tasty -- good quality meats and fish, imaginatively seasoned, crisp veggies, fresh bread -- and appealingly presented. But portions have become skimpier, while prices seem to be inching up. For $25 you'll get about a 2.5 to 3 ounce portion of fish over 2 tablespoons of gnocchi, with a half dozen pieces of sliced, sauteed mushrooms. Ratatouille Bruschetta (at $9) was 3 small slices of toast topped with about 2 teaspoons of marinated veggies on each, and 7 springs of watercress in the middle. Delicious, but awfully skimpy for the price. An entree size Caesar salad with a small piece of grilled fish added was tasty, but came to $23.

The wait staff is always NICE, but the service is inconsistent. We've had extremely attentive staff efficiently filling up glasses and bringing more bread. We've also had times -- such as tonight -- when they brought fresh hot bread to all the tables around BUT ours -- even though it wasn't especially busy. Also, a waiter swept past en route to another table and cleared my plate without even asking, and long before my dining companion was done. Once he was done, a busboy cleared those dishes too.

Next thing we knew, without prompting the waiter handed us the check -- never asked if we wanted coffee, dessert, anything else. Felt like the bum's rush and, again, there were plenty of open tables and no apparent line. With NO alcohol, the bill was $71.

The restaurant also has an awkward layout. The small entryway can only accommodate a few people, and the hosts are always slow to process people coming in the door, so the line backs up and snakes out the front door. The front desk is also a high-traffic area -- adjacent to the hall where the restrooms are and the entrance to the busy movie theater next door --so there is virtually always chaos just inside the front door. It's a terrible layout, and the slowness of the hosts exacerbates the problem.

We really like the food here, so I'm torn about what to say to accurately convey what to expect. It might just be best to grab a cocktail and munchies at the bar before or after a movie, rather than blow the budget on a full meal.

Two words: Torta Cubana. Order it with their fried plantains instead of French fries.
